Cash for Clunkers killed my 92 Volvo Turbo Wagon with a rod knock. Yes, it is sad.

In return for euthenizing the Turbo Wagon, I got a 2009 Fit Base AT in Black. If I could get a white interior, I would have called it an Obamamobile. (That's a joke, by the way.)

Phardrocks

(And, yes, I voted for Obama.)

Bought an Orange GE 08 on Tuesday (Clunkers deal). Added Mugen Quick Shifter & Sport Pedals, I've got Honda floormats on order & a guy coming on Monday to put some X-pel on my hood. I also did the justintime mesh condenser protector mod. I'm pretty much in love with this little car, the motor revs so nice and the car's a lot of fun for the $.

Folks who bought under the CARS/Clunker program...would love to hear about your experiences in this thread:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...periences.html

The thread has been getting a lot of hits. I'm hoping that potential buyers, dealers, news people and maybe even the government are stopping in to see how well the program is working. You never know.

The Senate is supposed to take a look at the $2b additional funding now that the House has approved it.

If you think your Clunkers/CARS deal was a really good idea, you might want to stop in on that thread and post about it. I also put up a link to the senators, so folks can send a message to their senator about keeping the program going.

You know how good it feels to get rid of a clunker and get a great deal on a more efficient vehicle. It's up to you to help others get the same thing...post in thread, send a note to your senator, whatever it takes.

I picked up my 09 Silver MT Sport Friday afternoon. I signed my Purchase agreement last wednesday and that is the only reason my dealer still let me complete the cash for clunkers program. (As it was suspended Thursday Night). My clunker was a 98 Jeep Cherokee sport 4x4 that was getting about 16mpg and had a transmission leak.

Couldn't be happier with the fit. We are a family of 4 and i have a 08 Xterra for the times I need some utility and the Fit won't work (pulling the camper etc). This is the 2nd honda I've owned. Can't say enough good things about the quality and great resell value of honda.

I traded a beloved customized astro van. Although, the Fit is filling the void as admirably as possible. Are you excited about customizing or just cruising?

I traded my 2006 Honda Element. I just *loved* it to death - but it was almost out of it's powertrain warranty and was going to need it's 60,000 mi service, new brakes, new tires, etc. and rather than put $1500+ into it, I decided that I should buy new. I couldn't stomach ponying up $26,000 for a new Element (mine was $20K fully loaded back in 06) and the 20 mpg for fuel economy wasn't the best.....so I decided on the Fit. The orange was just stunning in the sun.

I'm excited about customizing. I probably won't go too crazy - but it's always fun to get a few bits for a new vehicle.

Car just sits there getting dusty. Would love to tell them to shove it it but stocks are so low in area that I have no choice but to wait. Going to try again today. BTW my son got a Subaru Forester in about 2 hours Sat with no problem, which is really pissing me off. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey... "Toyota's got some nice vehicles in my price range too." ... and it's true enough, if they are not coming through for you.

Bought a White 09 Fit Sport with Manual Transmission, wheel locks, pin stripes, add on dealer carpet mats for $12,500 including tax (3%), title, license, with a $4,500 C4C rebate (C4C trade-in car was worth perhaps $800 - $1000). The dealer (Danville, VA Honda) was excellent throughout the transaction: no stress, no worry, no pressure. Picked it up July 31 after dealer brought it in from 150 miles away. My wife won't let me drive it!
