Radio Reception

Is it just me or are other people not getting very good radio reception with the stock antenna. Are their any after market upgrade antennas out there?

I am getting excellent FM reception and surprised how good the AM reception is compared to my Saab and Motorhome. Very happy with the radio (no nav).

I'm rarely on FM/AM these days, but when I am if anything the signal is better than my 03 Accord, 05 RSX and 08 Accord, all of them with window antennas.

I have noticed that AM reception is slightly worse when going under bridges and overpasses than in my '02 F150. Haven't noticed anything different with FM reception.

I actually have noticed that and thought I was going nuts! I live out in the woods anyway, so I'm pretty used to it, but it seems worse than in my other cars.

My reception sucks. I just bought a VW OEM replacement on eBay (it's 16+" long, much bigger than the stock Fit antenna) and I've got my fingers crossed it'll pull in better signal.

I'll report in once it gets here. Wish me luck!

I fixed my awful reception problem by installing a 17" wire wrap accessory antenna. Others have installed Toyota Matrix antenna and reported success. My dealer (Alberta Honda) was insulting and rude when we complained and Honda Canada said it is up to the dealer, not them, to decide if I have a problem, I went back to the dealer and they said "scratchy radios are normal. Get used to it. Nobody listens to the radio these days. Use your CD player." Fix it yourself or be ready to complain politely and consistantly for a long time to get results.

My reception is fine...I'm thinking about getting the Agency shorty antenna though just to have a smaller antenna.

I guess this one fits ours perfect...according to another post.

Agency Power Universal Shorty Antenna EVO, S2000, VW, TC, 350Z

What's the part number for the Toyota matrix antenna? Is it this year's model or a previous year?

I get poor reception only when my headlights are on, I assume its because of my HID ballasts...odd but they have a capacitor on them....

I haven't had any problems yet. But, then again, I have only listened to the radio for a combined total of 10 minutes.

On another note I have yet to play a CD in my Fit either.

My reception is poor to ok depends on the station. compared to my last camry it's worse. i would also replace it w/ the Matrix (or any other) antenna if it would improve the reception somewhat.

yes i still listen to the radio, especially NPR and news (to learn how low the stock market has dipped so i can have a heart attack).

my reception is bad. Was not like that when I purchased the car. I put on a spoon shorty antenna like a month after I bought the car. Had the car for almost 3 yrs now and all of a sudden my radio reception sucks. Taking it to the dealer on monday to get it checked out. I wonder if it could be a bad ground or something.

No problem with FM or AM reception. Actually I think it's just as good as the more expensive vehicle I sold to purchase my Fit Sport.
