5000 miles+ later, an update.

This post got a reply this morning.. 3800 miles later...etc

So I thought I'd add a brief update on the Sport and Base. Love them. Great cars. My suspension is now nicely settled in and the ride has become more compliant. Also a little more sway, but hey, I'm not on the racetrack. My wife's base is holding up to her suburb to city commute. She hit the 15% mark on the oil life meter at a little over 5K, and I'm still at 40% at a little over 5K. Says something about the computer's ability to figure in stop-and-go driving, full throttle squirts through traffic (she's nuts) and knock down the oil life at similar milage compared to my Sport. I don't do as much stop and go, more highway, but have the same lead foot sometimes. Not the times when my son's in the car though. So I don't get my ya-yas out as often.

The oil change was pretty easy on the base. The chin rubbed the ramps a little but no harm done. Not sure what's going to happen with the Sport. Might need to use the jack instead.

Both cars remain rattle free. My roof is most enjoyable now that we've gotten some warmer weather. It does not close as tightly as it once did, so I need to bring it to the shop that installed it to see if all that harsh weather and pothole filled roadway did something to the alignment. No water leaks at all.

I've got a cracked left foglight. I'm going to see if I can make some clear vinyl covers for them. If I do I'll post info on them.

That's it for now.
Eric

you could do what I did and make extensions for your ramps.

The rhino ramps that I used had a little hole near the bottom for just this purpose(I assume) the great part is once you get up on the wood the ramps can't slide on you. Using this method the ramp clears the front lip with ease.

you could actually make them much better by cutting an angle into the top and bottom so they sit flush.

Have you made a thread about the roof? Love to see pics, been thinking about a moonroof myself.
