without a projector, HID's dont look good. end of story. i have HID's and no projector and i hate it. even when i posted my car on an nsx forum, everyone asked why i would use a pnp hid kit on such a well built car. but i dont care because side by side, my car glares just as much as a stock non projector hid headlight on a prius.

Google it. They are not brighter than real HID's. They are brighter than xenon bulbs in a reflectour housing (HID kit).

I had a PnP "HID" kit in my last car and I have to say that the real HIDs I have in my Fit way out perform those things, look a hell of alot better and I also have lows and high beams. If you like them I guess good for you, im just glade I dont live in the same area as you and be ready to be flashed by other drivers.

i rarely do night driving, and when i say rarely, i mean maybe twice a month and only across town. i'd feel really bad about it if it pissed people off

Meg. Sorry but pnp and xenon bulbs are fail :/

if anything go on eBay and get the d2r connectors and buy some bulbs from infiniti or Acura... Then run the glare shields to apply them to your headlights. That's the best approach so far to running HIDs without projectors. But projectors will always be needed to run them, that's just how the technology works...

And to the guy who's form over function... I'll admit there's a few of those i've done as well, but nothing extreme like with headlights because that's a safety issue. You should realize that you're only impressing ricers with your mentality. There are things that are for jokes, but there are also things that should never be considered if you want the respect

lol i know what you mean, but that's what i'll have to be. teh moolah is minimum lol ordering some more mods today and an exahaust & tails in a month. v-1 in 2 weeks ^.^ then the first thing ill get at my next job, is HIDs and projectors. either that or intake. which ever is first. although i saw a sexy projector and it has 2 reflectors and 1 projector, 1 reflecor for turn sigs and i think the other is for high beams. ill haev to find a pic when i get home. but if thats teh case, thats 3 hid ktis lol

Nothing bothers me more about HID topics than the people with the "retro-fit HIDs" showing-off and yapping about how their setup is superior to yours. Yes your setup is great, we all respect retro is the way to go. If you retro-fit the HIDs yourself, I tip my hat to you. If you bought yours and spend 2 grand on it, then no comments.

Yes, I do have to agree certain setup tends to blind others on the road. And by all means this should be avoided. But if you buy the right brand/type/wattage HIDs, you can lower the glaring effect and achieve somewhat of a respectable cut-off.

Moral of the story is:
Don't go blowing out other peoples candles to make yours brighter!!! Congratulate and dont' hate!
