Didnt see you already made a decision. I'm glad you've decided to keep the car and in your situation it's wonderful that you love your car. I cant wait to see the new rims on. Now that you have a new found stronger love for the fit more mods will be justified.

In Donald Trump voice, you're fired from this board.

Guys, I am just simply saying that I have owned much better automobiles and I am sure most of you have as well. The Fit is not a car to get all sentimental about.

Sure, it's no BMW but you made it sound like a Chrysler . I could see parting with a stock Fit, but less so if it was a rare combo and if I had put some work into it.

I also really like knowing I'm driving a car that is helping our environment with it's great gas mileage and super low emissions rather than hurting it. My friends all drive much more expensive cars and don't quite understand why I drive a car like the Fit with the money I make. They'll never get it.

So the bottom line is I've decided not to sell. I really don't need the $1,000 and I love the car, period. There is nothing else like it on the road. Now that Honda has made the decision to eliminate the navi/manual transmission combo I don't have the option of buying a new one like that. Plus buying new cars is a pain in the butt and I'm looking forward to not having to do that again for many years.

So fellow Fitfreaks, I'm not going anywhere. Not only am I not leaving, but I'm going to buy these with my yearly bonus check (paid at the end of next month):

Enkei Racing RPF1 Black Painted
Haven't followed this thread in a while...but I do respect your decision. Didn't realize how hard it was to find a GE in the trim you wanted over there.

Now that you've walked away from the offer I hope you enjoy your GE for a long long time to come. Cheers!

The potential buyer seems to have a lot of money. See if you can negotiate a higher price. Sounds like he's willing to buy. Don't be a tool and sell it for way over the actual price but sell it just so you can get a bit more in return.

Accoding to the OP, the original owner DOES have a lot of money and is used to getting things his way I'm sure- especially for daddy's little girl, to which I'm sure he would have been a god for this one- at least until the next time he has to pony up. I'm sure she's getting a Benz any day now...and will pay nothing for it. Personally, I think you did the right thing hanging onto your wheels. Let the accoutant/lawer with his own practice put more effort into it- as much as you did. In the end, the 'haves' will always have.

My, I'm synical tonight! LOL! I may be very off base....but I doubt it.

I'd sell in a heartbeat and pay off that loan. Think of how much your credit will skyrocket.

Sell the sucker and get a new one. Every Honda I have ever owned, I sold for more than I paid for it. Everything is for sale at the right price. (Hell, even my wife, but not my grandkids)

not likely...the exact formula for determining scores is a closely guarded secret, and vary by reporting agency. on an installment type of loan (as opposed to revolving,) my experience leads me to believe its impact on your score is weighted more toward history of on-time payments.

My credit is already good, I had a 740 when I bought my Fit a year ago. I'm sure that's up higher now.

I'm not selling. As I said I don't need the money, and then I would be stuck without a car and no replacement. No more manual/navi combination available. Sure I could buy aftermarket navi but then you don't get traction/stability control, auto adjustment of the stereo volume when the navi lady starts giving instructions, or steering wheel audio buttons (which I use all the time). It's just not worth it to me. My monthly payments are dirt cheap in relation to my monthly income, and I have a very healthy savings account (money market actually), there is no reason to sell once I really thought about it.

Could I be driving around in an Acura, Infiniti, BMW, Audi etc, sure, but why would I want a higher monthly payment, far worse gas mileage, and no benefit of increased utility? Sure all of those cars would be faster, but my Fit is plenty fast enough to handle the day to day grind. Plus I love driving the car, it's a blast every day. I'm very fiscally conservative with everything in my life, so instead of buying the most car I can afford I choose to buy far less car than I can afford. I wish other Americans would have done the same with their homes, and cars, and credit card debt, and other forms of reckless spending because maybe we wouldn't be in this mess today.

The Fit is a perfect fit for me, but I sure do appreciate all of the replies (some of them quite amusing!).

Why sell it only to be stuck with $1000 and no car. You still need a car and a grand isn't really going to help you upgrade. That said, if someone offered me the same, I'd take it as the fit is my second car.

do what you want. You would make the daddys girl happy... I think the manual sport fit is hard to come by and the white modle looks hot. I had a manual base model that was wrecked and a manual was not available in three states.
The manual did about 8 mpg better then the sport fit automatic.

Well...If anyone offers me more than I paid for any car, I would take it and get a new one. New is better than used, even if I had put mods on mine. A clean slate gives me something new to do. That's what I did with my last few Hondas. Never regretted it. But, if you are in love with what you have, do what you wish. It is YOUR car.

Yep, if you read my post that is exactly the conclusion I came to. My Fit isn't going anywhere.

it may be your second car, but it certainly is the one that is more aesthetically pleasing, and more economical, too i'd bet! hahaa
