Adding keyless to US Base 2010 Fit

The below is the sequence to program the fob to get keyless entry on the 09 Base Fit model. Will it work on the 2010?

PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER (KEYFOB):

NOTE: It is important to maintain the time limits between the steps. Make sure the doors, the hood and the hatch are closed.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II)
2. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock button.
3. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.

4. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
5. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock button.
6. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.

7. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
8. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock button.
9. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch OFF.

10. Within 1 to 4 seconds, turn the ignition switch ON (II).
11. Within 1 to 4 seconds, press the transmitter lock button.
12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators within 1 to 4 seconds, then push the transmitter lock button again, or the code will not be stored.

13. Within 10 seconds, press the transmitter lock button on any other fob you wish to program. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and remove the key.

15. Confirm proper operation with the transmitters.

Yes. My service advisor did it in 20 seconds with the fit sport replacement key. Do not buy the one for the base as it is triple the cost and is the exact same key.

You will still need to get the actual key programmed. I bought the OEM Keyless entry, programmed it and had they key cut at a local key shop. Put it into the ignition, no dice. Had to go to Honda and pay them to program that key to work.
Some people have cut the key part off.

Car comes with 2 keys already so all I wanted was the keyless fob. Just program the remote and cut the key off them smooth it out and you have a keyless fob for $40 by buying the Fit Sport replacement key.

Yes, it will. I did this with the $40 Fit Sport key from College Hills Honda on my 2010 base-model Fit, and also did one for a co-worker who has the same car. If you just want to use it as a remote key-fob, that's all you need to do - just cut off the key blank. If you want an OEM look (as I did), get your dealership to cut and program the key blank, which should cost around $50-$60.

I second that! My dealer was surprised I had already programmed the locks, but was willing to cut key and program the ignition chip for $47.00. I think he was itching to ask how I knew the Base Model had the ability built in, but bit his lip. Thanks, Fit Forum.

Can someone confirm that this will work with an '08 Base Fit?
My dealer tried it with a Sport key and it didn't work.

Keyless Entry

Has anyone had keyless entry added to a 2007 Honda Fit LX (Automatic). It already has the passenger door electric to open all the other doors. I would like to know where to get it nearby. My dealer quoted $380.00 plus taxes. Seems high. I need service near Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Appreciate some info.

Thanks
