squealing high pitch sound when you press the break...

Was so confused about this matter because this is happening on my New Jazz which is about 3 months old with almost 3k on the mark. Started to happen about a month ago. When you press supper lightly on the break you wont hear a high pitch sound, but normal breaking u will hear always the break/tire squealing like a train, like metal to metal high pitched sound.

Gonna send this to the dealership, I know that this is too soon for the break to worn out, a possible 2 years lifespan maybe but not this too soon... Will they cover this on the warranty incase? All opinion are welcome... =D

brakes don't depend on time, but usage. the heavier and more often you are on it, the more gets worn away. Riding your brakes (keeping one foot on the brakes at all times) will prematurely wear them down.

but at 3k, unless you're on the track everyday, it most likely is something else.

brakes are wear & tear parts, so it doesn't automatically fall under the warranty. but if something else is the cause, they might fix it.

I get your point about the usage part, what I am wondering if the brake is all worn up this means they put a marshmallow breaks in it, normal breaking is what I do and I make sure that I use it lightly always since from the start... Bad news about this on my New Jazz, first somebody is so jealous at work about my new car he scrape the whole passenger side of the care with a key that makes my bloodboil... and now this... whats next... mmmm...

well, i've put nearly 40k miles (about 13x as much as you, more if you're using km)... though 11k was on a massive road trip, and much of the rest are for doing short trip deliveries (with plenty of stop signs/lights). Still on the original brakes.

if you know how to change a flat... just take the wheel off and give it a visual inspection to see if maybe there's a stone or something caught in it.

Why mess with a new car @ 3K. Take it in to the dealer. Let them figure it out. 3k/3mo. is way too soon for brake issues "under normal conditions." Save yourself the headache. Take it in soonest. Just me...

Was on the dealer today and within 15 minutes they fix the problem at no cost. I ask the mechanic what is the problem and how did it started to happen. He just said that it squeal because the disk and the pad is not properly sinc in because on traffic I seldom press the break hard enough... Mmm, dont know if I'm gonna take that reasoning. In the first place it already stated on the manual that use the break slightly from the first 300 and I already did making sure that there is no problem with the break... We will see if this come up again a couple of months or so... Problem is fix and I am content...

Hmm, could just be brake squeal. Taking out the pads, putting on some brake grease at mating points, and putting the pads back on would solve it.

That is what I was thinking also. Anyways I show them that I am one hell of a customer that wanted to get the right stuff rather than the bad apples... squealing while breaking is a pain in the ass specially it always squeal when u break... Right now I am doing what the mechanic says to press the break evenly...
