some people say that wider tires have a wider contact patch that will lower fuel economy... some folks say their wider tires didn't affect them though.

But typically, wider tires are a bit heavier than the stock 175s... so the added weight can reduce fuel economy also.

But I'm with spootnik... fuel economy is the least of my worries.

Today I ordered my tyres and of course the 205/45/17 had to be a rare tyre size in Goodyear eagle F1 but I have reached the point of no return now, decisions have been made and I need to stick to my guns.

you know... you can put all the pictures in one post.

Incidentally... with such a small profile on the tires... it makes the current gap look HUGE.

And I have a feeling, you're gonna be rubbing quite a bit on (hard) turns.

You are right about the rubbing but i don't plan on lowering it too much. Two finger gaps all around and besides, Roads in Canberra are pretty damn good. You can count with one hand how many potholes you see within a month and even if you do see one, it's gone within a few days.

Looks real sharp and I think you will be ok if you don't go to low with the coils.

Long story short, my coil overs had the wrong bracket, am spewing. So now i need to wait for the correct brackets to be sent from Taiwan. This is karma for all those times I have pocked at people who drive their cars like mini 4WD. I will never ever utter a word in this regard in my entire life from now on.

Anyhow, it has been a week since I have been waiting for those damn coilovers and i got bored meanwhile. So i went out and bought a subwoofer

Getting it fitted tomorrow, it's the Pioneer TS-WX77A, the stealth sub at only 890cm wide and 8cm thick. We'll see how this goes.

I've also been looking into some recaro seats, anyone can point me in the right direction for a drop in seat that will not mess with sensors or need some extra railing work done.

While waiting, the dude convinced me:

T1R, not bad. Drop in and gives a little punch on the 1st-3rd gears on flat surfaces, haha.
