New Honda Jazz, Possible Problem?

Hello,

I now have 2 Honda Jazz's in the family, or Fit's as you yanks call em

Ones generation 1, 2003, and the new one, I just bought on Friday. A 2011 model 1.2

Question I have, is that when the engine is running there is a little whirring noise which I assumed was very normal, but when you press down on the clutch, the whir dissapears, so i'm guessing its the gear box making the noise? Is this normal?

The car has done 28k miles, and still has about 4 months left of dealer warrenty, but its about 30 min drive to my local dealer, so just thought I'd ask on hear first.

Would Imagine I'll be on this forum quite a bit with 2 Honda Jazz's to look out for now

Thanks in advance.

could be the throwout bearing, but there is slight noise coming from the gearbox while the car is in neutral.

that noise goes away when clutch is pressed. same thing on my other MT cars i have.

Ah right.

Thanks for the reply.

Think its a bit of princess and the pea with me at the moment, lol. First time I've ever bought a nearly new low mileage car.

I'm going to clean both the Jazz's a clean this weekend, and will post some pics for your approval. Old vs New

Although the Mrs has been driving the old one, and managed to reverse into a fence so the rear bumper is slightly hanging. Tried popping it back in with little effect.

because you're mileage is so low, its probably the throw out bearing and not the input shaft bearing. unless the trans went without oil
