I received the recall a couple days ago in mail for the passenger side. I called dealer and they knew about it as well.

 

Interesting. I just ran my VIN & it shows no new recalls.

Not only is my Fit trying to kill itself, its trying to kill my passengers.

 

What year is yours?

 

Only certain years needed passenger airbag too iirc.

Yee, according to generic Honda year-by-year stuff, 2009-12 Fit is impacted. Just not mine.

 

Well maybe certain months too? lol

 

Same year and color. Maybe some VINs aren't covered?

 

my 2010 Fit only needed it's drive Airbag replaced. Typing in my VIN shows zero(0) open recalls

 

2010 Sport, driver's side bag replaced. Since they didn't have part in stock, they lent me a rental...for 2 months!

 

yeah I had my rental for 96 days last summer. loved it!

 

Took mine in when the parts came in. The service counter people invite you to wait in the lounge, but laugh when I tell them I'm going to torture the sales staff for a while.

 

Had my passenger side airbag replaced in my 2012. Took about 1.5 hours. Work done at AutoNation Honda in Valencia, CA. Lovely area around, was a bit disappointed when I go the call back and had to return to get the car. They offered to wash the car too, though I declined as the car was clean.

 

Hey Everyone , does anyone know how many ignitor does a airbag inflator (Takata ) have in cars ??

 

Typically 1 but some high end large air bags have more than one, and most newer airbags use multi speed inflaters that look like a layered shaped charge, they fire one for low speed 2 for high speed.

 

can you please tell me
1.whether the ignitor produce heat or spark ?
2.What will be the reaction time ?
3.Does this inflator has single or double ignitor ?

Igniter is a ammonium nitrate explosive, goes BOOM and makes sparks smoke and hellatious ly bad smell.

Faster than you can see it.

No way to tell from outside, and BTW holding it like that is really really bad ...

I got a recall letter for my 2013 red Fit Sport back on the 8th. Local dealership had me go online to make an appointment, which I did right away. Haven't called me yet, but it's been 9 days. I'm assuming they had to order the recall parts to do it and will contact me when it's in? I should probably call them and ask.

Also, my recall is for the driver's airbag.

Wondering if they'll do my armrest install and nose bra cut while it's there too. Had ordered both from Amazon, sold by Honda.

 

Got my Takata replaced last June...it WAS a few months wait, and I did NOT ask for a loaner. Just drove reeeal careful.

 

I just got the driver airbag recall done on my 2013 Fit (called the dealership and they said no appointment was needed for this). I think they swapped​ out the steering wheel too during the process because I can just feel something a little different about it when I drove off.

 

Just got a letter about Takata chapter 11 bankruptcy and the need to file a claim now. But only had my driver airbag replaced. VIN shows zero for passenger side recall. This is concerning, as I thought all 2010 passenger airbags were affected too... is it not true?
