Yes, there are so many things that could cause this. What puzzles me though is that there is no warning light illuminated on the dash to indicate a fault; I would have thought that if anything was wrong then the fault light would show.

Good luck with the dealer, Sunnyday. I've only got to speak to frontline staff in their fancy suits. The mechanics are hidden away out the back so getting answers is difficult! I had a problem with the same dealer years ago when I took my old Mk1 Jazz for a service and asked them to check the gearbox for the bearing problem as it was making a noise in 1st and 2nd gears. Nothing wrong they said so I took it to another dealer and they test drove it with me and confirmed I had faulty bearings which Honda then fixed for free. Sadly, the second dealer has closed down now

I've never got any warning lights on mine either so tried the free version of the Torque app on an Android phone together with a Bluetooth ODB reader to get more info from the ECU. No errors showed up there either. Not sure if this is a good sign or not?!

Dealer was a waste of time - fully carpeted showroom, with mechanics all safely locked away out of sight. When the car was finished the woman at the counter told me that I needed new rear brake pads at a cost of £120 + VAT; I nearly choked!

I hate the way that car dealers have gone, with all the plushness and yes sir, no sir; I want a good old fashioned mechanic who can give no-nonsense advice; all these modern places are good for is extracting money from wallets.

To get back to the problem, I think that there may not be an easy solution. I don't know if there is any adjustability built into the Jazz injection system, so that the fuelling can be richened at low revs, and I don't have a garage near me who can advise me or do anything about it if there is. I think that it may be time to change cars.

Of course this could be a VVT problem; apparently the engine uses two valves at low revs and then four at higher revs. Is it possible for the system to malfunction so that all four valves per cylinder operate at low revs? What about the broken rocker springs, what are the symptoms?
