Dome light comes on for no reason.

When I am driving at night and make a right turn the dome light comes on briefly and slowly fades. I jiggled the door switches and they all fell the same.

What could it be?

I'm wondering same thing as Black3sr. The ceiling switch might be "almost" making contact and a bump or turn might jar it enough to turn on the light.

Move the switch back and forth several times and then test it out:
1.) in the normal mode of "comes on when the door opens"
2.) when it is "completely turned off"

Report back on what you find

I got busy and got used to it. Now I've noticed that the door ajar light is on and I have to slam the driver's side door to make it go off. I haven't examined the switch so I don't know if it is a replace or a remove and clean situation.

I know this is ancient and I discovered and fixed the problem in ye olden dayes. Nevertheless, here it is. The seat belt retractor doesn't work very well and the tang was frequently getting slammed in the door near where the switch is depressed. The dent made the contact intermittent I fixed it with some neoprene foam and glue.
