Thumbs down Speeding driver hit my parked car..

I bought my car CPO and only had 8 months of payments left and just under 65K on the odometer.. Installed new HU, Speakers, and the night of the incident, installed a sub in the back that I didnt even fire up!!

My car was hit parked in front of my house around 4am. Luckily this guy's car wouldnt let him drive any further or I think he would have taken off. Cops came and we swapped insurance and had a report filed.

Im wondering what you guys think, is it going to be repairable?
I should note this guy must have been hauling ass.. he was at least 300 ft up the road when he finally stopped.

Ouch! Thank goodness no one was hurt.

Is that rear door able to open and close? I am no insurance adjuster, but if it is tweaked on the frame your insurance may total the vehicle.

It seems to me that there have been a rash of accidents on FF lately - I hope this trend does not continue.

Im glad I was home asleep and not coming home late. I've definitely hung out in my car for awhile before heading inside..
The rear driver side door definitely sticks.. I can feel it get hung up but am able to open and close it..

My insurance got back to me and I was able to get it towed to a shop down the street this morning. The Estimate came in at 2k.. I filled a release so they can go ahead with a thorough breakdown and inspection..
Hoping for a repair and the end of car payments!

Good to hear it can be fixed; would have been a real shame being so low mileage.

I’ve been noticing a lot of reckless speeding around here in the neighborhood...lame.

Glad you are okay. Sorry about the car. I'm guessing you have frame damage and axle/suspension damage. If it were I, I would be hoping for a "total" from the insurance company.

Let me know when it's appropriate to start discussing your new Fit. Maybe a MY '18 . . .?

EDIT: Sorry. I didn't see your Post #5 above. Good luck with the repair.

Well I got the call today from the shop, they've deemed it a total loss...

I put in aftermarket HU and Speakers.. should I take those out?

EDIT: Also, i am eyeing a new fit

Called it

It seems like, it doesnt take much, to total out these little cars. I was lucky.... I found mine (salvage title) with very minimal damage and air bags intact .... I had to jump on it b4 it was gone. In my case, I bought the car less than 24 hrs after the seller posted it up for sale.

GL on the next one. Maybe give a GK5 a shot?
