My 2009 Fit is hard to shift at start up

Hello,

I have a 2009 Fit with 158k that doesn't want to shift into gear when I start it up in the morning. I usually run the engine and depress the clutch a few times as it warms up. Then it will eventually go into gear. After that, I'll have no problems. It seems like after it sits for a while, its a bit tough to get into gear. I've owned it for about 3 years and I have not had the fluid changed. Thank you for any information you can provide!

Should be changing transmission fluid at 36k intervals.

Thanks for the reply. Yep, I get that, and I will look into getting that done. Have you had that happen to you, and do you think that will fix the issue I'm experiencing? I have not yet had this specific issue happen in any manual transmission I've owned. Thanks!
