Yeah, I tried reading that DIY but it kept losing me, cause he's integrating the reverse tilt with the JDM mirrors & the auto folds... Looks like there was some pin swapping done... and others left out.

I have the service manual, so I can try and compare the JDM one with the USDM and see if any pins need to be swapped... just gotta try and find it (by searching the DVD).

Also just found out my mirrors are going to get delayed... he refunded my purchase, and told me that in 2 days they'll be done painting, and I'll be able to re-order them at that point

I think you got the last set, and now he has to wait to get a next one... at that rate I probably won't get mine till next year.

Well I don't get why he has 2-4 in stock listed for the black and white mirrors. Actually when I ordered from him, i contacted him first and asked if he had the mirrors available in ASM and does he have pics, and he said yes, next thing i knew he said he sent the mirrors to be painted at the dealer and about a week later he emailed me back with pictures. He then said go ahead and buy/bid for it, so i bought it and shot him another email to make sure he sent me the mirrors in ASM.

whole transaction took about 3 weeks from first email to receipt of product.

Was kind of hoping on getting started this weekend with the install... but it's better if I catch up on other mods.

ryu, did you ever get the harness to work?

Debating on whether or not to get the harness, it seems in this thread they wired the auto-fold with lock to work without the harness.. http://www.fitfans.com.br/forum/view...hp?f=15&t=1795 if I'm reading it correctly.

Did the harness come pre-wired for the signal winkers?

i actually signed up on fitfans a couple of days ago asking for help with my harness. Very friendly guys and their site is full of DIYs.

On that DIY, they did use the harness to setup the auto-folding. it just wasn't detailed in it because it was pretty much plug and play.

I'm still having no luck with getting the auto-folding to work. They are coaching me through some rewiring and trying to eliminate which harness is causing the problem.

The harness is not pre-wired for the turn signals, if that's what you are asking. You will have to tap into those blue and white wires at the fuse box. The DIY u linked uses a different color and that's because they used a GE6 for that guide. The harness is pre-wired for pin 7,8, but u will still have to pin the main vehicle harness pin 7,8 with a yellow and gray wire.

I think I'm going to try to rip out the harness this weekend and do my wiring properly. I have too many factors that i need to eliminate for the root cause of the problem. The OEM ambient light harness connects to the RC remote switch and its missing the connection for pin 7,8. So I will need to add wires to that harness. I also need to compare the green fuse plug too and see what's missing.

I'm also thinking that they rewired stuff for my car when i had my viper installed. Do u have an aftermarket alarm? I would be very interested to see if you get the harness and it works if you have the stock alarm/keyless entry only. Then I would have to go back to the installer and see if they can fix my problem.

Damn....

Sounds like a nightmare. confusing...

I don't have an aftermarket alarm or any of the honda electrical accessories that piggy back on those plugs by the fuse box. I had a feeling it would need a pin swap, but this sounds confusing.

So I was thinking about just doing the install without the harness, I can just push to fold when I need to, not sure if the auto-fold w/lock would be overkill... especially with this install.

The harness is pre-wired for pin 7,8, but u will still have to pin the main vehicle harness pin 7,8 with a yellow and gray wire.
So with the harness, you have to tap 7 & 8 by the switch? which is the main vehichle harness? (existing?)

I had a feeling that I'd still have to tap the winkers even with the harness, but did you have to snake new wires through the door to connect the winkers?

What's the link for your thread? I signed up last week, but I'm having probs with the translating sites.

unfortunately their site won't translate with google auto translate. had to cut and paste everything line by line.

i had to snake 4 wires each side. two for the winkers, two for the powerfolding.

yes, without the JDM harness, you will have to open the vehicle harness plug (the one that goes into the RC remote. push a yellow and gray wire into pin 7 and 8 and clip it back on. then you tap/solder the wires from each side to those wires.

If you get this done soon and I can't get my autofold to work, i wanna try putting my JDM harness in yours and see if my alarm is the problem.

here's my thread in fitfans: Fit Fans Forum - Entrar

I should be getting my mirrors this week... hopefully. If so I will be installing these over the weekend or sometime during the week since I'm off next week. Since I won't be placing my rakuten order till atleast January I'm going to install them straight as is, and decide later if I should get the harness.

We can meet up whenever and try and figure this out...
I need to look at the service manual tonight and copy/print the pin outs and see what's the difference (JDM vs USDM) or which pin(s) need to be swapped/added to make the harness work.

Do you have the Electronic Service Manual (the one posted on this forum)? If not I can bring it over on a flash drive or something,,,, iirc its about 4gb.

Awesome. I'm off this weekend. If you need help u can come to joizee and i'll help. Just buy some wires and some taps. I got extra pigtails. If u got mini philips heads that would help with the jdm plug. Otherwise we will have to dremel it.

Yah, I still got about 9 pigtails left... and a small precision screwdriver kit (wow... you really need that for the JDM plug?). I should have enough taps, but I gotta double check. I hope my mirrors come before the weekend...

I'm just throwing this out there cause I don't have the harness or the pin outs in front of me... but if the harness had the 7&8 wires why did you have to tap? Wouldn't it be a direct swap?
I'm gonna try and look at the ESM tonight to see the differences.

The usdm plug and the jdm plugs are different sizesonthe mirror side. The vehicle harness is not prewired for pin 7,8.

well so been noticing that the autofolding works intermittently and a little bizarrely. when i arm the alarm, the mirrors open. when i disarm, the mirrors close. i think i have the wiring reversed, so i'll go rewire it when i find the time.

made myself go out and try out my fix. now it works! unfolds with alarm unlock. folds with alarm lock. one thing i notice is that the button needs to be "undepressed" for it to work. when i press my keyless entry to unlock once, it opens only one door and the mirrors do not unfold. when i press it for the second time to open all doors, the mirrors unfold. also, it works with my viper controller. yehey!

Hi xxryu139x,

Do you have to do any pin swap with the JDM Auto Folding Wire Harness (08V02-TF0-000) to make it work?
Why it does not work correctly the first time you connect it?
and
do you think the CR-Z auto TILT harness would also work with our mirror?
Thanks

no pin swap or depinning needed to be done. join the fitfans.br forum and they have a detailed DIY on how to do it. although, u will need to use google translate since its in portuguese. the guys there are very friendly and helpful.

the crz tilt harness does not fit the FIT. fitfans.br said to use the Insight harness instead. but just browsing the install, its alot of wiring. much worse than the wiring for the folding mirrors.

^^^ They got a DIY for the Insight tilt?

I never found it... if it's easy to find, send/post the link.

For the reverse-mirror tilt feature I was going to try kptechnologies module..
