Any bolt that is attached to your chassis should work

Not sure Connor. First pull the rubber weather stripping off over the edge of the panel. Tackle from the top and pull HARD. It will come off. It will not break. You will need to hold the hood release open once it is loose to get it out.

This thread is just what I needed. I just ordered a new cap for my right wink mirror. I've bounced the old one off my way too narrow garage a couple times and have some very unsightly gouges in it. I couldn't tell from the fiche how to get the old one off, but this thread answered my questions. Thanks.

I dont know if this has been covered yet, but when you guys are reassembling make sure you run the mirror wire harness behind that little "wall" thats directly beneath the wire entrance.

If you forget to do this like i did, your windows will catch on the wiring as you roll down!

Luckily, it was just a simple matter of putting the wire back behind that wall and reclipping. Now my windows roll down properly

Just buy the original turn signal mirrors from Honda with no problems and enjoy.

Even if they are the same the cost would be very high compared to the aftermarket ones. You still have to do all the wiring as we are not wired for them.

Agreed, I actually saw someone selling side mirrors from a insight for like 120
I forgot if it was Craigslist or eBay,
Iv seen aftermarket ones on eBay for 100 shipped, but if I could find myself a pair of insight for 20 30 bucks more I say it's worth it,
But new from honda, yeah an arm and a leg

IIRC, you can use the Insight mirror covers (with the LED turn signal), but you'd have to buy the corresponding "mirror mounting bracket/plate" (forgot what it's called). Where as the JDM GE8 covers are direct swap plus the wiring in this thread.

I believe the info on the Insight mirrors is buried in this thread somewhere, or a similar thread which was created around the same time as this one. It was mentioned somewhere on here back then.

For those who have installed the JDM power folding mirror, do they fold when the alarm locks/unlocks? or do u have to do it manually everytime?

Base on my setup, there is a switch to fold the mirrors. locks/unlocks the doors would require after market add-on.

There is a genuine honda part #08V02-TF0-000 ($130-150) that i found on Rakuten and discussed in a brazilian fit website (http://www.fitfans.com.br/forum/view...87&start=100)( difficult to decipher using google translate) . I'm trying to figure out if it would plug into the USDM wire harness.

I kind of got the idea that the optional accessory as shown on Honda Access as well will have to be purchased to make the auto-fold mirrors fold/unfold by locking/unlocking the car.

Good link ryu... I wish they had a full step by step DIY... that wire harness looks intimidating..

I think the basic one (below) will only fold one side.

So you'd have to get the other one (same as on the Brazilian forum), this one:

I never noticed that the GE8 power folding mirror switch is not illuminated?

Is your switch illuminated?

If not then that would explain why on that forum they went with the CR-V switch?

Well for this issue Honda could use the mirror switch from CR-V (which is illuminated) 35190-SWA-J02, I'll help with the night issues.
On our Jazz/Fit GE it's possible to make this modification, you just need to get the ilumination and earth signals.
It'll look like this:

there are two part numbers available:

08V02-TF0-000 ($110-130) - For lock/unlock with car alarm
08V02-TF0-000A ($30~) - For remote control with honda remote starter

Most of us only need the first harness. I ordered a pair of JDM Powerfolding Mirrors on Ebay and the seller even went out of his way to have it painted at the Honda Dealer for no extra cost and it also includes the switch. The price was very fair compared to what AJRACING wanted for a set. I then went and ordered the harness from Rakuten and some pigtails from Bernardi. When they all get here I guess I'll have to figure out if the JDM harness will fit the plug in the car. I know a couple of plugs should be no problem connecting to mirrors and the switch since they are all JDM, but let's see where the it plugs into the car.

I scanned that page and I completely missed that CRV illuminated switch. I kinda thought that it was illuminated already, oh well. That guy who did that actually bought all parts separately. He bought the motor, the cover, the mirror, mount, harness, switch. I guess it helps that he's japanese and probably has connections in Japan.

Damn, you got your mirrors already?!?! wow... you don't waste time eeeh?

I was going to buy mine over the summer from AJR, at the $555USD price they had.... when I emailed them to buy them, they said they changed distibutors, and some other stuff, blah, blah, blah.... so the mirrors would now be $800 for the whole thing and that includes the covers that are just primed (not color matched from Honda). They changed their pricing on the website shortly thereafter to the higher price.

So it looks like I'm going to have to buy them from Japanparts Atleast I'll be able to get the CR-V lighted switch, and the correct color covers from Honda... just not sure of the price yet.. If you got any better idea, let me know. Can that guy get more?

When are you planning on doing the install?

Another thing I can't decide is if I want to go with the Canadian Heated Mirrors, or the JDM Honda Access AquaClean mirrors...
