Reintroduction : 2012 Tafetta White GE8 AT

My retired 2009 SSM GE8

Unfortunately, I got into an accident on January 17th, 2012.

I picked up my 2012 TW GE8 AT on January 27th, 2012.

I'm really enjoying the 2012 over the 2009. Car feels much more solid all around, and I really don't mind the switch from my manual to an auto. It's on 17x7 Momo Revenge's that the dealership ended up throwing in with the car. Updates will follow soon, I'm leaving it stock for awhile before I begin to transfer parts over.

Switching from a manual to auto in a car like the Fit would drive me nuts. In something more refined, it may be a little more tolerable but not in the Fit.

Glad you like it though

I didn't feel much of a difference between the manual and the paddle shifters, seeing that I can manipulate what gear i'm in either way if i'm going through a canyon or whatever. Ultimately comes down to driver preference, and since the Fit is just my DD and will never be quick, might as well enjoy it as an auto. I don't think the difference between manual and auto will hinder me any.

Man both of your Fit's look awesome!!! glad you are ok and that white looks sweet with those wheels. What size are your tires?

I have a 2012 BRM sport A/T and that wheel/tire combo is what I'm looking for.
It looks perfect without lowering and thats what I'm going for.

Specs:
17x7 et42 Momo Revenge
215/40/17 Falken ZE-912's

Another pic for reference, I'll definitely be lowering it in the future, but probably not for a few months.

Welcome to the TW club my friend. Is it noticeably more quiet in terms of road noise compared to the '09?

Thanks a bunch for the pic you just helped me make my decision on a wheel/tire combo.
I've been researching all kinds of set up's from 15" to 17" but I could not find a good pic of a stock height GE8 with 17's and the perfect profile tire.

I've decided not to lower my car and now I can decide on a 17" set up that will fill the fender gap enough for my taste

thanks again for the pics and again your car looks so sharp!!!

very glad to have a TW haha.
definitely. the car is much quieter than my 09 was, even when i had edead on the doors and trunk. the different tire size may have affected this also, but the car is much quieter.

just for reference, here's a pic of how it'll looked dropped +/- 2" (about where my old Fit sat).

Have you had any rubbing at all with your tires?
I've read through all of the threads and the info is all over the place

I understand the offset is key but I like the look of the 215/40/17 just dont want to rub.

not at all at stock height.
JDMxGE8 is running the exact same specs w/ eibach sportlines and camber bolts with no rubbing.

thanks again and I enjoyed reading JDM's thread his car is sick just like yours.

I'm coming from the hardcore Mustang world for the past 25 years but I started with imports

I'm having fun with my new Fit and I've learned so much in the past month here at FF

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at a meet or cruise here in Socal.
