These are LS460 projectors with the clear lens and was modified by Andrew at The Retrofit Source to internalize the solenoids. I was planning on installing these in my Honda Fit but then I saw the Ford Focus on TRS's Facebook page and I did something I knew I shouldn't have: test drive one. I put a deposit down for a new Focus ST and will be selling my Fit. These projectors won't fit in the Focus so now they have to go. These were never installed. Andrew charges $150 to modify the solenoids so these would cost $530 from TRS with shipping. This price is firm, if I can't sell them for $400 then I will probably install them in my Dad's CRV.

 

What else is required for install and what year fit?

 

Sorry if this is a dumb question but what exactly does internalizing the solenoid improve on the original design/performance?

D2S bulbs, ballasts to light them and H11 wiring harness. It'll retrofit into 2009 to current model Fits, possibly the GD too. We have huge headlights so we can put pretty much anything in there.

 

It makes them about 25% smaller then with the external solenoid so they're much easier to install in a housing. I tried to install them unmodefied and they didn't fit very well. With the solenoid relocated to the inside, you just have to cut a 3 inch hole in the back of the reflector and it'll slide in pretty easily. Google LS460 projectors and you'll see images with the external solenoids... they're HUGE!

 

Cool so the output is the same as stock?

I'm not skilled enough to retrofit myself, but I was thinking of getting Andrew to do mine. Would you still do 400 shipped to TRS?

 

Output is a little less then the stock LS460 but Andrew told me it's not by much.. most people wouldn't notice unless you put your car right next to a Lexus.
