Thanks for the reply EvilOne. I really want to go with a lower profile and 40 is the lowest I could find in the tires I like. I did check your pics and the 195/45/17 doesn't look bad. Do you by any chance have pic of the wheel and tire like I posted above? I really would like I to see a clear shot of tire so I can can see if it's over the wheel, inside the wheel or just over the wheel. I really want the tire to be just over the wheel.

Thanks

Ok Guys,

I found this link on Skinny's GE Fit:

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...7s-tw-ge8.html

This is the look that I want for my wheels and tires. He's running 17x7 +38 with a 215/40/17 tire, lowered on Swift springs and has no rubbing.
I would like to do the same wheel/tire set up, but with Eiback Pro Kit springs. Also, the offset for the wheels would be +45.
Do you guys think the extra +7mm would cause rubbing? Im also looking at a Wilwood BBK upgrade, so I think the +45 would be better.

What do you guys think?

My current setup on my 2009 fit sport, is dropzone gd3 springs in the front, and 125lb/inch 14" long 2.5" diameter circle track springs. Wheels are 17x7.5 et 42 front, et36 rear. Tires are falken 205/40-17. No rubbing, even loaded, cornering, mountain runs, big bumps whatever. Before this set I had 17x8 et38f et35r with 205/40-17 falken. Still same suspension setup and still no rubbing issues.

Just had my wheels and tires put on. Tenzo-R DC-5 all black 17x7 +42 offset with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 205/45/17 tires. Stock height right now with absolutely no rubbing. Not even close. I will try and post some pics tomorrow. Springs are on their way, should have those on within a week or two. I'll make sure to follow up after it is dropped.

SSR type C 16x6.5 +44 front and +39 rear(5mm spacer on +44). No rubbing on stock height. Now ill have to see if whether coilovers with a 1.75in drop all around will cause rubbing.

We're waiting to see if you put a tire thats a quarter-inch bigger diameter and 3/4"greater width won't rub if you drop 1.5" or more.
With 45 mm offset and stock ride height ok but dropping ...

+45 with 205 on the front might pose some issues (turning for one). the rears are as close as you can get on those offsets and tire width. still you can make them work if issues does arise.

you can always just add some negative camber. +45 is not that bad, alot of members on here have way more aggressive setups with an even lower drop.

just remember to get some camber bolts so that you can adjust camber if required.

205/50/16 will give you the same "tall" sidewall as stock.

50% of 205 is 102.5 <<== TALLER! (by a hair)

55% of 185 is 101.75

you will rub regardless of the tire's size. I have the same coilovers with a smaller drop than you and i rub with 16x6.5 with +44 offset -1.8 degree camber in front and 205/50/16 tires.

i know for sure the rear is going to rub like crazy. probably will rub your wheel well liners right off. and the front will be gone within 10 miles of street driving. the only way you will decrease the rub is, using 195/45/16 and with more negative camber and all dampers turned to max stiff. if not you can always raise the car to eliminate rubbing all together.

Help do what?

Shorter sidewall? yes... but only about 4.25 mm. Is that really noticeable?

Avoid rubbing? not sure... statistically, it should be better than 205/50/16... but no idea by how much. If you consider JJIN used the same coilovers but dropped less than you... well, it ain't gonna be pleasant.

if you're already rubbing with stock wheels... there's not a whole lot you can do, other than raise the car up a little or stiffen the damper like JJIN suggested. I would suggest going with 175mm width tires, except none of the 175mm tires for 16 inch (within a reasonable diameter to stock) have 7" rims listed as "usable" on tirerack.

I suggest you figure what is causing the rubbing... the tread face of the tire? the corner of the tire? the sidewall? any of the three or a combination of the corner plus one of the other two could be the reason.

a small "section width" would be narrower sidewall bulge... but both brands using 195/50/16 are still wider than stock 185/55/16... again, if stock was rubbing, this is only going to make it worse. 195/50/16 would help a little if its the tread face, since that size is smaller in diameter. And maybe, if the corner is rubbing (smaller diameter, but bigger width).
