Here is my setup:
Suspension: Tein Street Basis
Tires: Nexen 205/40/17 (very quiet tires)
Rims: 17 X 7 40 offset
Lowered amount: 2 "small" finger gap.
Rubbage: None that I heard yet. I've taken corners quite fast and braked hard and i still don't here rubbing. I guess that's good?
Camber: Yes, with SPC bolts. Do not know what my camber specs are as I have not gone in for alignment yet.

you'll most likely have to camber a lot up front to clear the fender

Might be getting a set of wheels at 40mm offset, 205/45/16 and the wheels are 16x7 Rota Track R's. Car is lowered on S-coils. I know I'm over the "limit" but I have loads of fender gap with 15x6.5s with 205/50/15's and those wheels are 38 offset.

Lots of great info in this thread guys.

With 45 mm offset and stock ride height ok but dropping ...

Just wanted to follow up regarding my wheels and drop. So, I have had my 17x7 +42 offset wheels, 205/45/17 tires, and Swift springs on for about three months now. I have 2 10" subs, 2 amps, a custom sub box and amp enclosure in the hatch. I have driven with the setup now and had absolutely no rubbing at all. I've taken bumps at good speeds with nothing and I have taken corners at good speeds with nothing. I can turn my wheels all the way left and right and have absolutely no rubbing. I have also driven with this setup along with my wife and two kids in the car and still no rubbing.

I guess i don't really belong in this thread (yet), but i thought i chime in to help out anyone who's considering my current setup.

Wheels: Enkei RPF1 16x7 +43mm
Tires: 195/50/16
Suspension: BC Racing Coilovers (softest setting)
Drop: Slammed (ie zero finger gap)
Rubbage?: Massive rubbing in the front. Zero rubbing in the back.

Going to raise it up a bit, and add camber bolts to see if that will help. i don't plan on doing any fender mod.

I thought the +43 and 195mm tires are going to be a tad conservative, but i guess i'm wrong.

You didn't read enough posts. 195/50x16 is a tad shorter than stock (23.,7" vs 24") but the 43 mm offset is too little when you lower very much. You're going to have to rise back to close to stock ride height in back. Since the spring rate doesn't change much with raising the spring seat there won't be much change in ride. And you'll need to raise the rear as much as the front; if the Fit rakes to the rear you'll get funny braking. Not funny ha ha, but funny oh crap when decel causes the rear centerline to rise above front.

If your swift springs are stiffer but not lowered ride height you can get away with it. If you're lowered by an inch or more you got the only Fit that can get away with it unless your springs are very stiff.

hey thanks that's good info. I'm not as technical as you so i didn't go above and beyond looking for the perfect setup. I really like the look now and i'll try to fix the rubbing issue.

I have roughly a two finger gap all the way around my tires, front and back. My wife notices no difference in ride comfort and I have a buddy with a stock 2011 GE8 and he can't tell a difference either as far as comfort goes. There is not much different from my stock setup in my opinion when it comes to ride comfort. My car is noticeably lower than my buddy's stock 2011 though. And besides, there are other GE8s on Swift springs running similar setups with no issues either.

Question

I have a 2011 Fit Base lowered with T1R S-Coil Springs(The S-Coil springs offer a drop of 35mm-40mm front and rear with the spring rates of F.2.9kg/mm R.2.5kg/mm).
I would like 15x7 +42 175/65R15.
Will I rub? I do not want to mess with fenders.
Thank you for any help

We had a Fit here with 195/40x17's on 42 mm offset but not lowered and he has no problem with his 08.
On your 2011 you want to use a 175/65x15 tire on 42 mm offset which is 3/8" narrower on each side of the tire and trifle smaller diameter than stock 185/55x16's. Its a good bet that even when dropped an inch to 1.5 " you'll be OK. It''ll be close but good bet it works and you won't rub.

Any reason why you want to use 175/65x15 on a 7" wide rim?
And yes I know the base doesn't come with 185/55x16's but the bodywork doesn't change when going from base to Sport.

Thank you for your reply
I thought 175/65x15 would be the only way I would not rub with my set up, and I can only find Buddy Club Wheels - P1 Racing SF15x7 or 6.5 in +42 I did not find any +45.

Good thinking. And if the 6.5's are cheaper and you likethe looks you won't gain anything by going with 7" rims.
good luck.

Wheel Size: 17"
Offset: +45mm
Tire Size: 205/40/R17 (Toyo Proxes)
Suspension: 1.4" Front Drop, 1.2" Rear Drop
When I Rub: Never, not even with 4 people and luggage. =)

I will confess that I added a Rear Spacer @ 1/4" and I had to slightly roll the rear fenders. Still never rub after the roll.

Long time I don't post on the FF, used to have an 07 GD3 and I had an 06 Si for the past 2 years. Came back to the Fit world this afternoon! Bought an 2012' Base GE in Polished Metal.

Just read the entire thread since the stock steelies and hubcaps won't last very long, gotta get rid of those quick! I'm pretty settled on the following setup:

Suspension: Bilstein Coilovers at maximum balance drop wich I've read is pretty conservative
Wheels: Rotra Grid 1570's in 15x7 +45ET Grid 1570 - ROTA Wheels
Tire Choice 1: Toyo Proxes 4's in 205/50/15 http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/pr...l-season-tires
Tire Choice 2: Kuhmo Ecsta SPT's in 205/50/15 http://www.kumhotireusa.com/tire/cat...F-A6DAED9DD99F

From what I've read I don't expect to have any rubbing issues with this suspension/wheel/tire setup. What do you guys think?
