2015 Fit Gk5 with 10th gen Civic L15b7 swap
Nice! Can't wait to see it wrapped up!
I JUST subscribed to the youtube page and will be keeping an eye out. I already have a short block from work waiting to come home. Just need a head and flood recovery GK to drop it in. Hehehe

Lots of them at wrecking yards. If you get the non si you can find for around $900, Si engine is going to be around $2600 and you will have to find a transmission also since the Fit one wont work
Si will make more power due to the turbo and has stronger rods and a little large fuel system. You can easily change the turbo out most engines wont come with a turbo. I would say its what power level you will be happy with. This swap isnt cheap and takes a good amount of custom work.
Are you saying that the swap requires $2500 worth of factory harness from the donor car, or you're going to have a harness adapter that costs $2500 by itself? If it's the second one, that's probably going to price a lot of people right out of doing this. If it's the first one, then it seems like junkyards ought to have a bunch of wrecked Civics by now.
I have a 2018 Si at the moment, from everything the guys on CivicX say, it doesn't have stronger rods. All of the 1.5 engines supposedly have the same rods except for the hatch, for some reason those are weaker. The Si does have a slightly better turbo, I think it's interchangeable with the turbo from the CR-V though. The biggest benefit of the Si is that you get a limited slip differential from the factory.

L15 Rods
All L15 rods are not the same. Fits have smaller wrist pins. Even on the same size big end, the notch is not the same between Fit and civic. I don't know between Si and hatchback... I'm running the Brian Crower civic rods in my turbo Fit motor.
regarding cost of a custom wiring harness, $2500 is average. and if everything else in the car works? Should be more expensive...

You're right, I misspoke. The Civic 1.5t engines have the same rods between Si and non, but the hatch are supposed to be different. And for my comment on the cost, it's the R&D that goes into the product vs the number they expect to sell that I'm thinking about. I won't pretend to be able to do that wiring work, but once it's been figured out, if they only have one customer then they have to price it pretty high to get their labor time back. If they have dozens, then it can be lower. If they have a hundred, lower still. Not saying they should sell at the cost of components- just that if they make a bunch, I'd hope it's not the same pricing as if it were a one off.
This is a pretty niche market so a hundred or hundreds is unlikely in the best circumstances, but it works the other way too. If the price is too high, people who might have done it will pass.
