3rd Gen GK Specific Fit Engine Modifications, Motor Swaps, ECU Tuning Sub-ForumThreads discussing engine mods/swaps/tuning for the third generation GK Honda Fit.
Just as a heads up (Not that you guys probably don't already know this) but an Si turbo is a direct bolt on with your setup. And they can be found dirt cheat ($300-$400). Bought one used for my 2018 EX-T Civic. Gains on the lowend, midrange and topend with no changes to the ECU and tuning (I know, tested on the dragstrip). Dyno gains are in the range of 20whp or so (Saw a dyno graph with this while at IMW and talkin Derek Robinson, which inspired me to do the 'upgrade').
Here's a pic I took of the dyno graph I was being shown.
thank you guys for working on our Fit swaps! I knew that k swap mounts were available but I was never sure how well they would go. This is super informative, and I’m looking forward to people swapping these powerhouses into GK frames in the coming years. Super stoked!
Hey guys
Wanted to start a new group for the swap we are doing in our Gk5. We hydrolocked the motor in the Fit and decided we needed to be the first to do this along with Hasport. Since this motor is going to be very available at junk yards to do the swap it will be much better than the K24z7 and smog legal witht he years of the motors coming out " depending on your State and smog laws"
We sourced the L15B7 from a 2017 EXT with 20,000 miles on it and came with longblock, turbo, 6 speed trans and ECU
I will be updating off and on and the swap should be done within the next month or so.
We will not be stock on this motor and will have some nice bolt ons with E40 making around 280whp and over 300tq
Hello, I’ve been looking into a GK5 project and I was kinda wanting to get a new L15b7 and have a spare motor I can tinker on and possibly put some extra work on. How did the swap go and how much did you spend on the engine?
I'm new to this thread and thoroughly enjoyed reading through the years of communication. Do we know if this has come to a dead end or is there still progress being made with this swap?
We havent updated for a while. Make sure to follow us on instagram or Youtube thats where everything gets posted.
Well its been a long time but the wiring is officially done and yes it was a pain about 60 hours of labor. We did however go to start the engine and because it has sat so long it is fully seized. We have found another engine and need to swap everything over so we should be starting the car officially in a couple of weeks.
