Honda Fit Windshield replacement

The windshield from my 2016 Honda Fit has a significant crack in it and will need to be replaced.

I found a 2015 Honda Fit windshield at a local junkyard. Would that 2015 windshield fit in my 2016 ? It's a pretty reasonable price.

Does anyone have an idea what a new windshield and it's installation for a 2016 HondaFit would be ?

Many thanks for any help and/or suggestions!

Call your local glass company to see if it's good enough for the swap and also for a quote. The body styles are the same. But you should never ask the general public for a quote when you can just get that from the place that will be doing the work. Prices are different all across the US.

The 2015/16/17 should be identical. I believe that the glass changed in 2018 and is more expensive, and there might be differences in the body fit.

Knockoffs are relatively inexpensive in big cities. Check for distortion before accepting the windshield. You probably need a new gasket that goes around the glass too.

check with your insurance company, too. Most have free or very cheap window coverage

Posting From 2022.

I'm sure 2 years later he already replaced the windshield by now.

Would have been helpful had he followed up with his decision.

true....a tiny rock hit the edge of mine 6 months new..and got replaced...i sense the windshield is " new and thin to save weight" but thats an assumption...What the heck changed in 2018???

I recall being told it had "better soundproofing". Might mean it was slightly thicker?

Also the safety suite was added in 2018, which involves the windshield.

Late to the conversation. I replaced my windshield a few years ago. Worked with a guy that also replaced my Integra windshield. Can't remember exactly but I think it was under $350 CDN at the time. I did ask him to see if he had the thicker one but his vendor didn't carry any at the time. OEM price was well over $1000 CDN for the thicker one.

Yes the 2015 should fit since the Honda Fit body style ran unchanged from 2015 to 2020. Just make sure it has the same features as yours like a rain sensor or camera mount if your car has those. For a new one with installation expect around $200 to $350 depending on your area. The junkyard glass is a good deal just inspect it closely for any hidden chips or stress cracks before buying.

Safelite.

Call Safelite.

Tell them what car you have.

What glass you want replaced.

They meet at your location to install the glass you want replaced.

Called Safelite to replace the windshield on my 1995 Saturn SC2.
