On Sale Date in U.S.?

I'll be needing to buy a car in the next few months. I know the new Fit is supposed to be available in "spring", but does anyone know whether that's closer to March 21 or June 21?

I'm thinking if they begin building next month per the press release, even if it's the end of February, we should start seeing these by April.

Any opinions?

I don't know when it's due. I think it will be a new model produced in a new assembly plant. I would be very leery of such a car until the plant and it's workers are "broken in".

Good point, even if it is Honda.

I'm thinking closer to April. The 2013's are pretty much gone, there is no real 2014 model, they will want to get something in the showroom ASAP, I think.

Yes, this is a car that has generated a lot of good press for Honda.

Now in light of the front offset test results, I think you're right that they'll want this in the showrooms soon.

If it's anything like the GD3 it'll probably start popping up around April/May...

if it's anything like the GD3, expect a hard time trying to find one at the dealer that isn't sold yet (in the beginning).

Yeah, I'm concerned about that, too. And the mark-up. So I may have to shop elsewhere unfortunately.

talked to a Honda rep at my dealership, he said it'll start arriving by late april in the US.
I hope he's right i'm getting one asap, the mexico plant thing doesn't bother me, they've been making US cars for years, it'll be a brand new state of the art facility and they are making one of the best and easiest cars to make (very few different options, so less to get wrong in the manufacturing process)

Well, the current Fit sold in Canada is made in China, so I don't quite get the Mexico thing.. VW, the Big Three, they all make cars there and sell them here.. Heck, Honda makes cars here in Ontario. Canada and exports them to Japan.

It's all about employee training, quality control of suppliers and the system they have in place to ensure quality. Plus, Jap car makers generally use the home market to test the cars first before they start selling them around the world. The Fit is already on sale in Japan as is the Fit Hybrid.

I'll be replacing a 1999 Honda Odyssey with a Fit... and it's been a while we've been looking for a city car replacement.

I to went to my local dealership, but no clue to the arrival date either. DARN IT !

My concern is not what I see on the outside of the new Fit, but the interior color of the seats. I got real tired of black for my 2011 Fit seats and now looking for a lighter color such as beige or light gray leather. I have seen Japans interior color but unknown if those colors will be offered to the USA. Anyone knows ?

I'm very interested in buying this as my current lease is over April 30th.

Hope that the Canadian release will be the same as the Americans but as of now, it's looking like summer.

TORONTO, ON (February 13, 2014) – Honda unveiled the all-new 2015 Fit today at the Canadian International Auto Show. Available nationwide this summer, the new Fit has been completely redesigned to offer an innovative twist of sporty style, enhanced interior space, unique driving capabilities, advanced safety and technology features and improved fuel efficiency.

Stopped by a dealer yesterday, and they said should be in US dealerships within 3 weeks, which would be great.

Only believe it when it is actually there at the dealer. Would the release be like how they released the 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid?

Who cares? Who wanted to see that thing anyway?

If they're lying, what am I going to do, track them down and call them names? It's not a great conspiracy, geez. If it's not in, I'll still see it at the NY Autoshow in April, so no worries on my end.

Yes. And my friend at Honda dealer told me that they were notified of a May official release date. That makes sense, since having worked for an Acura dealer in the past, the usual turn around from assembly to dealer is two to three months.

So with production starting yesterday, a May official release a sense.

2015 introduction

Talked to high volume dealer in southern California and he stated that the Sport model would now be EX, he told me what they had ordered and that he expects late April or early May. No one seems to know for sure, as I am sure they will stockpile early production so they can satisfy dealers when the introduction date is set. I will trade my 2011 Fit for a 2015.
