Not to mention occasionally using the paddle shifters in "D-mode." I just picked up "Miss Fit," (an Orange Fury Sport purchased on a "fly and buy" via LAX) and am vacationing in rural CA.

I find the paddles great for passing on rural two laners. While in "D-Mode," just give the minus side 2 quick down snaps, mash the accelerator and away we go! A tapping on the plus side as you go around causes the revs to drop back to the top of the torque curve and you sling shot right by, followed by an auto "down shift" as it settles back into "D-mode."

To me, it feels somewhat like riding an old, low displacement (cc's) snowmobile. Cruise - Whine - Belch - Cruise! LOL.

One caveat with the paddle "shifters," though. On many of CA's tight, tiny, hair pinning two laners, when hand over handing around sharp, 15 mph switch backs, the paddles run away from you and it's a tad mind boggling when the plus is suddenly where the minus just was, except now on the bottom of the wheel post!


Hey, I know! Maybe I should attach a "suicide knob" to the steering wheel, so I can steer with one hand and chase the paddle shifters with the other.


BTW, peppy is a good descriptor. Nimble is another that comes to mind.

I'd rather have the MT but Honda's has decided for the remaining May 2019- Mexico production to stop producing LX MTs and MTs in general. Dealers' are not able to order more (I tried several in East and Midwest) and the larger more-organized ones said the exact same thing - 'we cannot order more 2019 MTs and 2020 MTs aren't listed as an option". That - a 202 MT - I'm shocked about but this might be a USA thing.

Ah, yes, shifting without a clutch. Did it with my 4 on the floor 1978 Camaro when the clutch went out. Only problem was coming to a stop, ha, ha.

I hope just a US thing as I live in Mexico and am planning on buying a 2020 LX MT6. The price is fantastic here. Dealer in Guadalajara listing a 2020 starting at 276,000 pesos or about 14,000 USD. I took for granted that the low base price reflected the less expensive MT. But I will have to confirm that they have the MT in the 2020s.

my '90 hatchback was a stripper , 4speed , no AC ,no power windows , no radio , no wheel covers . i think it had a passenger side rear view mirror though .
if i remember correctly i paid something just over $6000 . sold it after 12 years with 195K miles and the original clutch . i know it went well over 240K with that clutch
