12 Volt Outlets

I'm surprised that a modern car with so much electronics has only two 12v outlets. I have a GPS, XM radio, DashCam, and cellphone charger. What I usually do with my cars is add a separate fuse block wired directly to the battery and located above the driver's feet. From that, I can run wires to whatever I want.

So, two questions. Does anyone know a good place to run a wire from the battery through the firewall into the car? How about some good locations for extra 12v outlets?

I also have a set of variable-color LED strips to put under the seats and the dash.

What about an add-a-circuit so then you don't have to worry about going through the firewall and you can tap into a fuse that suits your needs based on ignition switch position.

I thought of that, but I like having four new fuses available. I haven't gotten under there to look for an empty fuse slot.
