Austin TX area. Over 3 weeks of waiting because I wanted a M/T and not the CVTs they had in stock. I got the first M/T that dealer sold, for whatever that's worth.

I waited 3.5 months from when I put my deposit down on a modern steel 6 MT and then gave up waiting and bought a different car.

Still waiting.....

We ordered an Aegean Blue EX/MT on June 18.

Here's the latest from the dealer.
"Just want to let you know that i got production dates for your car it will be built the week of Oct 20th so the ETA will be three week after that. around 1st week of Nov."

We're searching all local dealers and some in neighboring states for a blue ex/mt, fortunately the Protégé 5 that the Fit is replacing still runs great so we're in no hurry (though it's getting pretty annoying).

The size of the dealer dictates how many cars they get each month. And a small dealer may only get 3-4 Fits per month. But basically what your dealer is telling you is that your order is a very low priority for him.

When you placed your order in June, the dealer would have known what cars would be arriving in July and he would have been putting in his requests for cars to be delivered in August. Then, sometime in July, he would have had the opportunity to schedule your order for September production and delivery in October. But he either had already committed his September production cars already or he just de-prioritized your order, figuring that he could sell a different equipped car for more than your deal. Even today, he would have the option to trade a car scheduled for September delivery with another dealer, but he has not and has finally made the request for your car to be part of his October production/November delivery allocation.

I would do my own search and find a better dealer who actually wants your business. Unless this dealer has offered to sell you the car at a big discount.

I left a deposit for a blue Fit EXLN on July 11th and took delivery on August 16th. Based on a past purchase of a first year Honda ('93 Civic EX Coupe) this seemed about what I expected. In both cases I picked a car from the dealer's incoming vehicle list. Sounds like you might have had a special order in this case.

Me: Albany, New York/3 weeks/EX CVT/Alabaster Silver
Kingston, NY. I went to local dealer in April, and he said he would have new Fits in mid-May. I never heard from him again. I tried dealers all over the northeast. Most had them "In Transit." I was looking for a blue EX CVT. Every blue one already had a deposit on it. I finally saw the light and put a deposit on a black one that was due to arrive, and I had it in a few days. I had to go to Keene, NH for that. That was for my son.

Three days later, I took delivery of a silver one in Poughkeepsie. I had placed a deposit on that one, too.

Without a deposit, the dealers ignored me. There were more customers than cars, so anyone with a deposit got the cars as they arrived. Both dealers had just one Fit - the one I drove home.

While I agree we're probably not a huge priority, the dealership we "ordered" from has made a reasonable effort locate a blue EX/MT for us. We're in a pretty big market (Twin Cities, MN) and I've not seen any in inventory locally since June. Several other dealers know what we're looking for, presumably they would contact us if they had one coming in. I've located a couple 300+ mi away which our local dealer tried to get but the holding dealers have been unwilling to send them over. We're not quite desperate enough to drive/fly more than 100mi to buy. I'm also not willing to buy without driving/inspecting the actual car I'm buying. I just found a new one 200mi away, the inventory manager at the local place is going to contact them first thing tomorrow.

I've been watching on-line inventories and cars.com and the blue EX/MT is a pretty rare bird, if we NEEDED a new car right now we would buy a different color or fly to Chicago where there have been a few available.

Just ordered a white EX-L this weekend. Will be manufactured Sept 19, delivered around end of Oct. Can't wait, but will help pass the time by buying stuff for the Fit. This forum may bankrupt me.

Placed a verbal "request" with my local dealer for a WOP EX the 3rd week of June. They agreed to a "placeholder" for the car and suggested a deposit to secure the hold. The car was slated for another dealership 200 miles away so a "dealer trade" was established between dealers to get the car to me. I followed up with a $200 deposit the first week of July. A week later I was told a "build date" had been scheduled for the week of July 16. Over time, the build date moved out 1 week to the week of July 23. On July 23, the status changed from "build" to "in transit". The car arrived at the remote dealership exactly 4 weeks after the status changed from "build" to "in transit". The car was driven the 200 miles to my local dealership where I picked it up Friday August 22. So about 6 weeks from time of deposit but almost 2 months from the original placeholder handshake to delivery.

Had a verbal agreement in Poughkeepsie, NY for an MT from mid May after my Civic died. Got antsy in June that nothing was arriving and put a deposit down in New Rochelle, NY (kind of got taken by promises that it was in inventory... either way got the deposit back no issues). finally test drove a CVT in Yorktown Heights, NY two weeks later and put down a deposit for a MT. Two weeks after that did some calling around further out of the area and located an MT in Scotia, NY. Put a deposit down on an MT 7/3, drove up to pick it up and found that a nasty thunderstorm had knocked out power to the dealer. They couldn't complete the sale although the car was there. They gave me a loaner for the holiday weekend. I returned to pick it up 7/7 (they had offered it to drive it down to me but I wanted to drive).

So depending on how you look at it, either a few hours (when I put the deposit down to when I should have been able to pick it up), 4 days (to when I actually picked it up) or a month (from when I put the initial deposit down).

Was kind of annoyed that the place I wanted to get from (in Poughkeepsie) got one in about 3 days after I picked mine up. I couldn't afford to wait unfortunately.

I had been looking all over since April. I got mine (EX CVT) in NH on 7/28 and got one from Pok'sie on 7/31. The second one (EX CVT) was for my son, who traded his '97 Civic with 302,524 miles on it. Except for the slipping auto trans, it was running fine.

I had $500 deposits on each, and they both arrived within two weeks.
