Help with new problem

2015 EX CVT 20,000 miles.

Car started fine.
All the indicator lights stay on.
Drove 35 miles, seemed okay. No cruise control or econ mode.

Auto parts store checked codes, MAF and intake temp showed up.

Self do or dealer?

if it's under warranty, take it to the dealer.

Part of the emission system-it's under warranty, so let Honda deal with it.

Like others said, take it to Honda dealer.
However, if it is a somewhat burden for you to do that (like nearest dealer is hours away), then pop open the hood and see if there is anything obvious like disconnected connector for MAF and/or intake temp sensor.
Did the auto parts store tell you anything more specific, like too high, too low, malfunction, etc?
One time I had a rodent chewed up a sensor wire and it caused check engine light to come on.

Holy Rodents Batman

Right again Boy Wonder.

I got to the FIT yesterday morning, popped the hood, I was thinking that
pulling the negative battery term would maybe reset everything.

Saw some fuzz growing on the battery post so starting cleaning. That is
when I noticed some cut wires. WTF
No one but the Colonel has ever been under that hood.

There was some damage further up the cable bundle also. The broken
wires were on the connecter at the MAF sensor. Easy fix but warranty
and extended warranty and my desire to find a Honda Dealer that I could
live with...... So I drove up to ABQ, NM and went to Garcia Honda.
It was kind of embarrassing because I bought the car from their competitor
across town. They found the tracks of the fiend that ate the wires.
Friends I have never been treated so well by any business anywhere! They
got me in and out and would not even sell me the wiring harness, said it was
a simple fix and the harness was very spendy.

Garcia Honda!!!!!

Checked with parts department on oil filter, 1/2 the price that they wanted
at the dealer in Las Cruces, NM.

By the way rodent damage is NOT covered. Everyone knows that rodents
are second only to aliens when it comes to car problems.

Thanks for the reply's, they counted towards my decision.

insulation

That seems like a catch 22. And the Shop had seen that before.
Yep, special anti-rodent tape was used on my FIT.

PICS of the problem

First two are of the repair, the weird stuff under the tape is steel wool.
Second two are the rodent damage.

They are BACK

The wires got nibbled again.
Honda's "This Will Work" repair failed.

This time I taped, then covered with that wire-loom plastic (two layers) and then
wrapped it all with real metal sticky back tape!

I am an old retired guy who plays with computers; I may make this my cause and
post a bazillion times on every social media site out there.
I have a data base of approx. 12000 active email addresses (8000 in NM).
Maybe I should be warning folks about this little problem Honda has?

My daughter and one sister-in-law are lawyers, yes I am ashamed to admit
that but it is what it is. At least they work cheap. Cheap for me that is.

If the Honda Social Media person sees this, hey, talk to me. Please.

Maybe you should coat the wires with rat poison

Unfortunately, this is not exclusively a Honda issue. Car manufacturers are increasingly going "green", by incorporating more and more soy based plastics in wiring insulation, upholstery fabrics, carpeting and molded plastic components. You can expect to hear more about this problem in years to come.

Mice got into my sister-in-law's new Kia Soul and ate the rear seat upholstery.

You're kidding, right?

A "rodent" is any of a number of small mammals having well developed incisors (front teeth) adapted for gnawing. Rodents include, but are not limited to: squirrels, chipmunks, rats and mice.

@Redd
We had a mouse die in the heating system in our GMC SOB and that was a bad few months.
So, no poison. But I would like other ideas.

Thanks.

Worth a try!

May not work close to the border, though.

FYI this is exact same thing happened to me recently on my '15 Fit, except this was a charge system sensor that plugged into the battery. Animal got in there and ripped it up - actually ripped it up from both ends! I'm now realizing based on this thread that my dealer was trying to screw me - they told me they wouldn't replace the wiring harness without making an insurance claim. He said he would look around the shop to see if they had any spare parts, but didn't find anything. It sounds like they were trying to take the cheap way out. So I fixed it myself by using the existing connector (which apparently you can't buy unless you get the entire harness) and soldering splices and protecting the connections with heat shrink tubing and epoxy. All of the wires were chewed through so it wasn't the easiest fix. FYI when it happened, I didn't have any engine warning lights, but on the blue LCD it was flashing "CHECK CHARGE SYSTEM". My dealer told me without the sensor cable the car would still start/drive fine but the alternator would always be stuck in max charge mode.
