Interesting comparison in the October Car and Driver where they ran a group of high-performance cars (Porsche 911, Lambrghini Huracan, McLaren Spider, Mercedes, VW Golf GTI, etc.) on the Virginia International Raceway and put them through their paces. Then, just for grins, they included a 2015 Fit EX and give it high marks for its handling on the track. It was the slowest of the group, of course, but topped out at what I thought was a respectable 104 mph. Not bad for a 130-hp engine.

I had mine at 105 on the track at VIR with the side windows down. Pedal was to the floor and that was all I could get it to do. The last lap I rolled up the windows and was drafting another car and hit 109. The ECU never cut out or anything. That was all it had. I have different tires so it's possible my speedo is slightly inaccurate.
104mph is respectable. I tried to top out my Ford Aspire back in college and all it could do was 88mph, so this is an improvement.
Three years ago I had the pleasure to drive Germany's Autobahns, and what an experience! We had a rental Ford Focus wagon with the diesel, and managed to get it to 210km/h (126mph). It's quite scary at that speed and there's no room for error.
How stable did the Fit feel at 105mph?
Just outta curiosity, what was the fuel economy at that speed?

The Fit is very stable. I do have different different suspension, wheels, and tires though.
It's speed limited to 118 in the ECU. Indeed, a 130hp engine on this kind of aerodynamic profile should be able to hit 120+ easily. K-tuner usually finds the way to disable the limiter if this platform is ever adopted.
Or so I was told...............
Oh, I'm sure there are places where the car can be opened up and faster speeds achieved, but the CaD article is about VIR. There's two straights on the Full Track where you can open up and they're slightly uphill, then a bit of a crest and into the braking zone. When I hit these speeds it was only for an instant and then on the brakes.

Also, I have the CVT as well. It's super fun playing F1 racer@ VIR with the paddle shifters. I pretty much kept it pinned between 5-7 k rpm. At about 6800 it will auto shift instead of bounce on the limiter which was actually kind of convenient.
I know the manual grouches will disapprove, but regardless, my fun factor still goes to 11 with the "lawnmower" transmission

Every car speedometer is a bit optimistic in stock form. This is so owners can't blame the manufacturers for speeding tickets.
By the same token, odometers tend to read a bit low, because the manufacturers do not want to be accused of shorting owners on warranties.
If you want accurate speed, either calibrate your speedometer and use a correction factor, or use a GPS.

I actually also read that same Car and Driver a little while ago! I was pretty impressed with the Fit's lap time. When I saw the 104 I just had to try it myself (Clearly on a closed course with proper supervision...)
Best I got was halfway between 105 and 110 on a straightaway and 110 going slightly downhill. I felt like I was fighting the wind / drag.
