Brand New 2016 Fit- Chirping Noise in Engine
I bought a brand new, 2016 Fit EX-L, and picked it up earlier this week. It may have been there since I picked it up on Tuesday, but tonight I noticed a chirping noise coming from the engine at idle. I say chirping but it could also be classified as a ticking noise. It's not loud enough to hear from the cab, but you can definately hear it as you approach the vehicle. The temperature's only been around 40 at the coldest, and I still have less than 200 miles on it.
I'm going to take it in to the dealership on Saturday, but does anyone have an idea what it could be? I'd like to have an idea so I'm not going in blind.

That's the way my Fit sounds - a bit of a chatterbox. I say that because my first Honda purchase was a new '91 CRX. The engine was so quiet you could barely hear it up close. It literally purred. Showed my dad and brother and they couldn't believe how quite and smooth it was. So when I first heard the Fit chirping away I was a bit disappointed. But I agree with 2Rismo2 that it's probably injectors ticking.

Yes, every new Fit I've heard clicks at idle from the direct injectors. Either Honda decided not to put sound insulation around them or they are so loud that the sound gets through what is there.
Having owned a '60s Diesel Mercedes and various aircooled VWs I don't find the sound disturbing at all!

Did you lift up the hood to see if you had a bird in there ? It can happen you know.
Seriously I asked that question myself when I got the car as it was ticking like a diesel. It's the direct injection system. Never had direct injection so I wasn't accustomed to that noise.
