Picked up 2016 LX this weekend, couple questions
Hey guys, I have been luring here and picked up a 2016 LX CVT this weekend. I have a couple quick questions.
1. In the morning I get some vibration noise from what seems like the console area, near the shifter and the cup holder. It seems to fade as the day goes on and I don't hear it anymore by the time I get to work. Any ideas what it could be?
2. Floor mats, there are so many thread... I live in LA, I don't want heavy duty leather ones. The Aries mats seem great but i can't seem to find a set anywhere. Any other carpet or other "good looking" mats you guys recommend?
This place seems great btw, have really been enjoying lurking around and reading about everyones experiences.

The factory oil is special break-in oil. This is rather unique to Honda.
The reason for the old "dump oil right away" philosophy is to get rid of casting sand and machining particles.
Modern manufacturing has eliminated 99% of this debris and anything else will be trapped by the filter.
Don't be foolish and believe net.experts whose recommendations are 30 years out of date.

I can't answer your second question because I have the dealer do it.
Anyway.... check out etrailer.com I called them and they seemed to be accepting orders on the Aries floormats in black.

Why so many people think Honda is on your side. Honda break in oil has nothing more the a 500 to 600 ppm of molybdenum. I ran a high molybdenum oil like Shaeffer's semi syn 7000 after dumping the first run oil at 500, to 800 miles. There are many other brands of oil that run a high Moly content.

Or add a Moly additive from this German company to get the Moly you want. One can gives you around 500 ppm of moly. I run a 1/2 of a bottle in all my cars all the time. You can get it at NAPA around $8 a can.

No other manufacture uses any kind of break in oil. Not BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Lamborghini, and Lexus. The list goes on and on. And they want you to run it up to 6,000 miles. WHAT? And you sheep do it while thinking you are some car expert on the internet!
I owned a small Audi repair shop so I have a better clue on what I saw/see on first run oil then some of the "want a be" car sleds that follow by the tee what Honda says. All this from a manufacture that made one of the worst AFT fluids known to the industry in modern times Honda Z-1 ATF. And then they told YOU it was a lifetime ATF fluid "No need to drain it." Honda has so many people "snowed " in this weird "we have special stuff" dogma and the "sleds" on the internet forms that just started to pick up a wrench that year keep repeating, because they found the forum for their car, they just keep this weird dogma going and going.
