windows creaking

Anyone experience the windows creaking when cracked open, seems to go away as it settles but happens every time.

Yup, I definitely have a creaky driver side window. Especially when putting it back up from "cracked"

Very common issue on the GK. When I had the door panels off, I added some extra padding in there. Seems to have solved the issue.

I sprayed silicone lubricant from Walmart in the center of the rubber channels and the creak disappeared. Just shot it down the track and it worked its way around by running the windows up and down a few cycles.

Did it leave a smeared residue on the windows? There's some grease inside my passenger door that streaks it every time I roll down the window, I'd like to get in there and clean it, but fear I'll loosen some of the doors trim parts that are for now quiet, but it bugs me every time I clean it just reappears when I roll the window down.

Be aware that now, dirt will accumulate in the channels (it sticks to the silicone). You will need to clean and re-lubricate them every year.

No residue. I've used this spray lube on many vehicles with no issues. This isn't silicone grease, it's a clear spray product.
