3rd Gen. Refresh When?

Was 2017 a "refresh" year for the Fit? Or is a refresh expected for 2018? I'd hate to buy a 2017 model if it will be refreshed next year and I end up liking the updated one better.

I am interested in the refresh changes as well. What if you like the old one better.? Honda might eliminate the steering wheel in favor of a touch screen and contract door alignment to the blind.

There were no changes for the 2017.

Some speculation is that 2018 will be the mid term refresh and perhaps 2020 or 2021 will be the re-design year. Honda itself is silent as usual on this issue. Changed or not the 2018 should be out later this year.

I agree with most sentiments. The MMC of the Fit should be this upcoming year (2018), and those models might arrive in the dealerships in autumn.
As for what to expect, most items would be cosmetic as opposed to functional, i.e., not much to shout about.
The next generation of the Fit is intriguing. If Honda is, indeed, trying to turn around its quality-value-reliability issues, the next gen. might fix some of the current problems and offer better content and performance. We can only hope. I would expect the next gen. to happen in 2020 or 2021, perhaps as early as the autumn of 2019.

It won't be a problem if I end up liking the old one better. There's usually a window of time when dealerships have a few of both years in stock. In fact, there's a dealer near me that still has a couple 2016 models. My problem is I don't really want to wait until Fall to find out. I'm hoping to buy in June or July at the latest..... unless the 2018 model offers some really sweet changes that are worth waiting for..... I wish there was a way to find out!

Thanks exl500! Based on those pictures, the exterior differences are negligible. Six new paint colors, though. That's intriguing! I also wonder if there will be any interior improvements.... upgraded armrests perhaps?

if ure not in a rush just wait until next fall to see wat they come out with.

but then again, sometimes the refresh makes da car look worse dan the earlier model yrs so i guess its really up to you. or is trade in value wat ure' worried about? den meh.. i dont know i dont care about resale value wen i buy cars. maybe they can improve the HU or something..

This. In my opinion, most "refreshes" tend to be minor styling changes "for changes sake" and seldom really improve the looks of the car. Now if they come up with some nicer colors, well, then maybe.

The Japan Jazz version for the third gen front end has always looked significantly different than our US version, so its really hard to tell how those 'leaked photos' may change what we see here from looking at those images.

2018 Jazz now officially announced in Japan.

2018 Honda Jazz Facelift Officially Unveiled in Japan - NDTV CarAndBike

It still remains to be seen though if the changes will migrate to the North American Fit and on which models the changes (esp. software related stuff) will be applied.
