Door Lock Problem Solved
Door Lock Problem Solved
A few weeks ago, I posted that I was unable to lock my doors using the switch on the driver's arm rest. I'm talking about when I'm leaving the car, not when I'm inside. I was able to lock it with the black button on the door handle, though.
Today, that black button would not lock the door. I tried the passenger's little black button, with no success. Then it occurred to me that the doors cannot be locked when the keys are in the car. I thought I might have dropped them inside. I checked my pocket, and the key fob wasn't there. I realized that I had put on different pants, but I didn't transfer the key. That could mean only one thing: my long-lost spare fob was hiding somewhere inside the car.
Although I had looked for it many times, it was only today that I was able to find it hiding under something in the forward cup holder. I don't know how I could have looked so many times and not found it.
So, some conclusions. It is possible to lock your keys inside the car, but only if you have another set of keys (key fob) on you. With a fob inside the car and another in your pocket, you can lock the car from the outside with the black button on the door handle, but you cannot lock it with the switch on the driver's arm rest.
No matter what happened, I was not going to buy another key fob for $350, so I'm glad I found it.

sounds good. speaking of silverEX15, my wife noted the GK sounded the low key battery alarm yesterday so swapped the lithium with that 2032 or 2023 you mentioned. thanks.
Another fix for door lock issue
I am posting in here even though the thread is ancient in case anyone has the issue and comes across this thread as I did. I found a video on youtube from a Honda Fit Guy which seems to have easily fixed the issue for free, definitely worth a look.

I just purchased a 2009 Fit for my son which had the issue and this solved it.
