If you'd like Honda to take notice - please submit each and every failure (defect) to the recall website. Car companies and NHTSA will react to posted defects and NHTSA tracks defect rate and severity. Post your defects as a car complaint at:

Me too I have this problem. They a change the fuse box near my strering. They have found infiltration of water. Then my cadran have bugging. So they have to change the complete cluster...I don't have to pay for that. They don't know the infiltration of water in the car.

So far I've not had any issues with my 2019 LX and water infiltration - but the water coming through the firewall near the steering is unnerving. I'll have to look to see where water might come in there.

Same issue on a recently purchased 2015 Fit LX with 123,000 miles in CT (temp has been between 40-60f recently). Hoping to find a fix or a way to get honda to cover it. I purchased it from a used car dealer a few weeks ago and have considered bringing it up with them. Has happened on ~4 different occasions and I try to take a video each time

Angry Display freaking out problem

Just heard from our dealer - they said the problem is the gauge itself (not wiring or car computer), but that we can pass inspection without it.
Since they want $1,130 to replace it, we said we will continue to do without.
We use our info display to see how many miles we have remaining on a tank. Unfortunately, losing this display also loses the ability to track the service intervals (even when the gauge is working, it won't let me reset to zero after an oil change).
Otherwise, the car (with ~ 70K) is running fine.
I'm putting around 1500 miles a month on it, so we will see how it continues to hold up!
Yep, the problem on ours is the same, started at about 40k miles on our 2015 EX CVT Fit. Took it to the dealer they want $1000 to replce the display. We are just living with it the last few years not the car has about 100k miles. Pissed that this is happening on a car we paid $25k for brand new and has always been maintained well. We've had dozens of Honda cars in the past but this one is not good.

Make sure you all report this as a safety issue to recalls.gov and file a complaint. If owners file enough - everyone will get covered on a silent or official recall.

Angry my Honda FIT 2015 fuel gauge display on the blink too

I have a Honda FIT 2015 EX with about 58K on it. I'm just chiming in here to say that I also am experiencing 5 min intervals, especially upon starting the car in the morning (but it's also happening on the freeway too) where the fuel gauge totally disappears. I've gone to Honda and at first was told they couldn't find anything wrong. I pressed them with my photos and after heading into the Dir. of Services office, he said that the whole unit would have to be replaced, for about $800 not including labor. That's $$$. Seems like there are over 45 people here now with complaints. This smells like a recall or a class action lawsuit to me. I will start the complaint process via those links tonight. I am also bringing this problem to American Honda Corp as we speak. This definitely needs action from every single person on this thread. If I get more contact info, will share. None of us should have to pay for this. It's a fault from Honda's side, clearly.

PS. This is a safety issue and more. It's also State issue re: odometer readings. Insurance/DMV, etc. If for any reason the display is not reading correctly, it's a more serious matter.

Thank you for following up with this. I've been extremely busy but will try to report it asap to honda and wherever else. Please let us know if you have any contact issue we should use. I have videos and pictures of the issue while the car is moving and as you said it's a safety issue to not be able to see fuel remaining, odometer, etc

Just reporting in after almost two years that it looks like it's never going to fail outright.

It has become much more common - I see it every day, now. But it still works some of the time. Interestingly, it seems to work more often now with cooler weather, but that may just be a coincidence.

The water intrusion is an interesting (if depressing) idea. Did they show any of you the corrosion they're talking about? Is there an easy way to look for it>

My honda fit display panel also not working

55k miles, odometer display disappears during temperatures outside below 45 degrees. I use the radio to monitor my fuel by pressing home button then info buttom and it shows how many miles left. This should be a recall

The screen will start off as lit, but blank, as in the one pictured above, then as I drive and the vehicle begins to warm up it will first show a scrambled display that will flicker on and off, until ultimately going back to normal after I drive roughly five minutes or so (temperature dependent, colder days can take much longer; it was 31 last night and took forever and a half for the display to come back). All of the gauges are still reading correctly while this is occurring, it's just an issue with the display itself not working properly.

The Fit is out of warranty but it was noted by the dealer before the warranty was up, they asked to have the car left overnight so they can duplicate it, but I haven't had a good chance to do so. That said, they said because the issue was reported before the warranty was up that they will service it in the future, so if I learn anything else (probably won't) I'll try to update this.
Any chance you heard of any recalls I really like Honda and I've only had my fit for two months it is the 2015 ex and I have no problems with it but this same problem it's already got 120k miles I expected Honda to last my Accord is a 99 with 270k miles

I just came here to say that mine is doing to same thing. I very recently acquired a used 2016 Fit. Next time I have an oil change, I will ask the shop to check the fuse box for water.

I'm not sure if I'm glad I'm not the only one, or if I'm sorry that this is apparently a wide-spread problem that Honda refuses to acknowledge/fix.

I guess when my wife's car is paid off, maybe I can trade it in for a Civic.

Same Display Problem

I just found this web site with a Google search for 2015 Honda Fit Display Problem. I just started having the same problem that the rest of you have described and shown in photos. It started yesterday, early in my commute when the outside temperature was 17F. The round display (fuel level, odometer, etc) went blank. Then it came and went intermittently. Once or twice it came on with a messy display of characters. Like I said, about the same as all of you have shown. Similar behavior again today, also a cold day. The odometer, when working, is at 101,000.

Odometer Display Freezing problem

I have a 2015 EX with 65500 miles and have had the same intermittent “blue screen’ problem for over a year. It’s not an issue in the summer (here in Philly) but always a winter issue once temperatures drop. It will often recover after 20 mins of driving. I have read this 24 month thread ... does anyone have a solution or group approach to Honda planned? This should be a recall I think. Thoughts?

Joining the chorus here

Same issue as everyone else here: a 2015 Fit with intermittent dash flickering issues. Discouraging to hear that it's a pattern Honda won't take responsibility for. Following the thread in case a recall is announced!

I’m a member of that club now too.....will contact Honda. This is rubbish, 44k and out of warranty, this shouldn’t be happening. Will update with any progress, if any.

Has anyone else noticed that they updated that part of the instrument cluster on the 2018 and up Fit? I seriously think Honda owes everyone with the old defective instrument cluster an updated dash. Here is the new one for those that have not seen one or noticed.

Before the pandemic lockdown, I tried to reach out to a lawyer to pursue a class action but then things went quiet. I think we could go this route. there's enough of us here alone. Trying to get Honda to do anything will not go well. I've tried every possible angle with them and they refused.
