What I Like and Dislike about my 2018 Honda Fit

Technology, folks!

The keyless lock/unlock capability on my 2018 does leave me spoiled. My last vehicle is 31 years old and doesn't even have a radio, so I was used to doing everything "1986" style. Like several others here, I keep my FIT fob separate from my other keys in a different pocket. I find that I listen for the audible beeps from the door locking as I walk away from the car. I also periodically open up and use the embedded key in the fob just to make sure everything still works the old fashioned way in the event the electronics fail.

This thread has morphed and somewhat been hijacked by this discussion.
I don't know I have mixed feelings.
While I love the convenience of keyless entry and push button starts, meaning I can pretty much just get in my vehicle and drive, well,....
Now that I've had vehicles with this capability for several years, I think I kind of miss the old days.
I've been watching some episodes of the Jerry Seinfield series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. They always start with him describing and approaching a usually classic car.
Makes me kind of miss the whole full ritual that use to exist when we approached and entered our vehicles.
Yes, that included unlocking the door, and actually placing the key in an ignition and turning it.
And while again, I love the instant convenience of the new technology, I don't think I ever worried that I forgot to manually lock a vehicle.
Not to mention, in the old days, a lost key? Was a super cheap replacement expense. Now? A lost fob or a broken keyless entry system can cost a whole lot of money to fix.
Yeah, we aren't going back. But there is something to be said for keys in locks, and ignitions that required the turning of your wrist. I think it created a greater cognitive connection with your vehicle.

Honestly the last thing i care about is keys or push button start. Most of my cars have to be manually unlocked, even the standard "keyless entry" on the lx spoils me a bit. I find i keep having to stop myself from jabbing my key into the drivers door keyhole right away lol
