someone in another thread mentioned, the rears not being able to fix toe. I mentioned to the guy, he can buy shims. and then, linked to the KISS thread, for a tutorial on how to get in there
one day tho ..... rear disc brakes = would be sweet
Originally, I couldn't find one at the discount box auto part stores or on Rock Auto for our models. As an amusing side note i had a girl at my local discount auto parts store argue with me that my manual transmission equipped Fit didn't come with a clutch because her computer told her so. Anyway, It seemed like the only solution was going to be the dealer. After some research and taking with Exedy the 2009-2013 clutch of theirs HCK1010 works all the way to 2017. According to Excedy and also verified from a Honda dealer the 2018 and up has a different clutch. Don't ask me what's different, but Excedy said it was different enough not to work. As and FYI the Excedy HCK1010 will work on the 2017 and what I currently in my car. Not sure if a white box discount auto parts store clutch for a 2009-2013 will work? Please do you own research for other fitments. Hope this helps someone besides me?
NOTE:
the dealer and exedy both agree, 2018+ clutch is diff, so this good news may only apply to 2015-2017s
It does appear that the panel itself (No. 27 in the Honda parts diagrams) is not available directly but only as part of a larger assembly that includes fenderwell portions. Honda assembly part number ( 74110-T5R-A10 ), which is $141 online but also $120 to ship to my locale.
Updated Post#1 with all the new information that has been added since my last login. I have also updated the Dropbox with all relevant PDF's/guides. I added the source of post #1 to the Dropbox in the event that I stop updating this post, it can be locked by the MODS and someone else can take over. That being said, I'll continue to update this thread periodically for as long as I own a Honda Fit.
Picture 1: What you see here is the hangar on the passenger side and this goes on with ease and exactly like stock.
Picture 2: What you see here is the (USDM) Drivers side hangar. Normally stock would go straight across but the Spoon hangar goes back towards the rear bumper and this is why Sport owners are skeptical if it fits. However I have a solution. If you refer back to Picture 1 you will see there is a opening in the center and the upper hangar hole. So what you do for the other side is you put the upper hangar hole on the hangar attached to the car and you jimmy the spoon hangar in the center hole. The exhaust is very solid and does not shake so I know it is safe while I am driving. BTW when putting the axle back on it is cake, bolting it up is very easy and you can reuse the OEM bolts.
Picture 3: This is how it looks from the side it is pretty hidden.
Hey Everyone. Apollogies for not keeping this as up to date as possible. I may need to take a break from this thread for a few or likely the rest of the year.
The too long explanation is I started a family, bought my first time and I work at a hospital. COVID-19 has claimed a family member and the work load is insane.
I appreciete your patience in all of this.
Also, Dropbox account was hacked and everything deleted. I will atempt to recreate when I can.
Thanks for sharing Evil!! Now to find a competion clutch kit for a GE that should theoretically work with GK? I tried looking and cant find any
Hey TougeMonster GK5... have you had any luck finding a sport clutch? I have a 2015 Fit and I might be needing one (I'm about to take down the transmission to inspect) and would be pretty cool to have a Stage 1 clutch.
I've found some (links below) but are also only listed for up to 2011 or 2014. Has anyone tried or know if they will work with a 2015?
