Paint chipping issues
#43
I noticed a chip on the rear bumper the second I brought it home from the dealership. Less than 30 miles on the car.
I took it right back to them and they said they'd take care of it. Have an appointment scheduled with them on Monday.

Hello everyone,
I would like to apologize if people are having an issue with their paint on their vehicles. We would highly suggest bringing in their vehicle to a local Honda dealership to address their paint concerns. They would be able to determine if a manufacturer's defect is present with the paint. Any defects will be corrected back to its original specification.
However, if there is paint damage due to an outside influence, more than likely that would be something not considered to be a warrantable concern. An example would be a rock or object on the freeway hitting the windshield and cracking it.
Thank you,
Jonathan

Paint Durability
I've owned my Fit for almost a year and 15K miles. I too am noticing several small chips on my front bumper, grille, hood and fenders. The front end of our 2014 CRV is flawless (granted it sits higher) but I would expect the same paint durability across the board. Chips are expected and I know the paint won't stay as immaculate as it did off the show room floor, but at this rate, I'll end up needing a repaint by the time it hits 20k! The front end on my '99 Accord with 160K looks better than this!

I'm really annoyed about this - paint started peeling off my bumper while I was washing it, and I took it in and they detected an "impact mark" (from a chip) in the exposed plastic, so they're not going to cover it. I've been driving 25 years and never seen a chip turn into peeling paint, but now that I"m reading this I'm realizing I've never picked up chips that easily either on previous vehicles. Not happy.
