I was looking up how to apply touch up paint and came across this video. It's a pretty good tutorial on applying touch up paint.

2015 LX, 697 miles. I haven't made a payment yet. Found a paint chip on the driver's door near the lip of the window. A little early for that to be happening. Modern metal metallic. Not happy about it.

I noticed a chip on the rear bumper the second I brought it home from the dealership. Less than 30 miles on the car.

I took it right back to them and they said they'd take care of it. Have an appointment scheduled with them on Monday.

Any defects will be corrected back to its original specification.

However, if there is paint damage due to an outside influence, more than likely that would be something not considered to be a warrantable concern. An example would be a rock or object on the freeway hitting the windshield and cracking it.

Thank you,

Jonathan
I think the fact that the paint is so thin, rust appears wherever small rocks have hit. It's one thing to get dings (fairly common occurrence that is to be expected); quite another to discover rust appearing not long after each ding. Comparing the inferior paint job with a windshield cracking...these are two completely different issues.

Paint Durability

I've owned my Fit for almost a year and 15K miles. I too am noticing several small chips on my front bumper, grille, hood and fenders. The front end of our 2014 CRV is flawless (granted it sits higher) but I would expect the same paint durability across the board. Chips are expected and I know the paint won't stay as immaculate as it did off the show room floor, but at this rate, I'll end up needing a repaint by the time it hits 20k! The front end on my '99 Accord with 160K looks better than this!

I'm really annoyed about this - paint started peeling off my bumper while I was washing it, and I took it in and they detected an "impact mark" (from a chip) in the exposed plastic, so they're not going to cover it. I've been driving 25 years and never seen a chip turn into peeling paint, but now that I"m reading this I'm realizing I've never picked up chips that easily either on previous vehicles. Not happy.
