Installed the filter and according to the paper work, since there is no filter tray, you have to install it sideways? Sure enough it is too long if you try to install it otherwise.
It did have an odor at startup, but disappeared a few seconds later.
I have no idea. I'll have to clean the car up and take a look. I just needed something in the spare tire well and found it today.
I was living in a more rural area and the car was parked in a garage since I wasn't commuting into the office so I'm sure they set up shop then. I've since moved closer in and lost my garage spot. Going to put some sticky traps just I'm case they're hanging around.
ROTTBOY COMMENT:
Damn those rodents!!! Happened a decade ago to my wife's previous 2010 Range Rover SUV back in the islands. They tore up the engine insulation which was a total pi....s... r!!!
Your sticky trap plan should do the job!!! They're better than rat poison as they get caught on the spot as opposed to dying slowing in a car's darker recesses.
Yes I'm interested in your experience. Honestly I wasn't going to buy one, but for $15 I figured I'd give it a try.
So it's been a few weeks since I've "refreshed" the cabin air filter. After cleaning, I noticed an immediate increase in air flow. There wasn't a lot of bugs and debris to begin with. The air still smells fresher to this day. It doesn't change the way the air smells (like the OEM charcoal filter). So a good investment to buy the refresh kit.

Thanks for posting your experience. How many miles did you put on before you did the refresh? I'm thinking maybe 10k is what I'll start with.
After a heavy storm in the area, I went to get something in the car and found a little water had dribbled in on the back driver's side door:
No other water intrusion. Since moving to a new house,c is parked on the street and on an incline probably tilting to the passenger side because of the road. I cleaned up the gasket and under the door to see if maybe that will help seal things better. Supposed to rain all weekend so I'll know if it makes a difference.
I noticed the exact same thing..... after installing the same weathertech window visors...... Turns out that I had not correctly attached the big door seal doing something else.

What do mean by the big door seal? Is that the one that goes around the interior of the door, that goes over the trim panel at the bottom? If so I'll try messing with it after this weekend's rain.

It rained all day and the cabin was completely dry. It's supposed to rain more tomorrow so if it stays dry for a second day, I'll consider it fixed. The door bottom was really dusty/dirty so maybe it just wasn't making a great seal.
Hmm just a little bit of water came in. I reattached the door gasket but it looked like it was installed properly. I really wonder if the tilt of the car while it's parked is letting water come in with really heavy rain. All the door drains looked good as well.
Other than a stiff neck, I'm doing pretty good. It was an older couple so who knows what was going on there. At least they weren't jerks about it and owned up to it.
It's been a while since I've posted since I really don't drive these days. I have to post this video though and my Fit is in it, but thankfully not involved. I went on vacation and the day I came back my neighbor told me about his car getting totaled by a drunk driver. Decided to check the surveillance system and found this:
Definitely could have. The guy feel asleep at the wheel. I guess I got lucky that my house is closer to the turn onto our street so they were able to navigate the turn them fell asleep SMH
