Considering Disc Brakes

Hello,
My Fit 2015 EXL is due brakes.....around 50k miles. I love the car. I am thinking to add disc brakes on the front. I wonder if anyone had success installing Wilwood kit P/N 140-13029, Is there a wheel clearance issue? While there I figure I'll replace shocks. Any recommendations from the group? I want better handling in the turns....avoiding all the pot holes in Maryland.
TIA

I believe the only thing you need to worry about his, 15 inch dia wheels. wilwoods website has a diagram which shows dimensions. you'd have to prob run crazy wheels .... for it to NOT fit

Those Wilwood's are purdy!!!

Maryland has great roads. Well the eastern side does but Baltimore isn't so great.

You'll have to change the OE wheels, which is a good thing. +48 to +45 offset is what I would suggest. 15" RPF1's will not clear.

Why though? The car (at stock power & weight) stops on a dime. Save your money and just keep the pads fresh

Yup. And just make sure to buy good quality pads, either Honda's OEM pads or one of several good aftermarket products, I forget their names.
At 18,000 miles my pads measured 7.5 mm. At 33,000, they measured more than 6 mm. If they continue wearing at the same rate they should last until the car goes past 100,000 miles, still have 2 mm left after 100,000 miles.

Can confirm that they definitely do not fit with 15” Stock Steel Rims from an LX.

I’ve read multiple times that 15” RPF1’s don’t fit. I’ll take a picture of the clearance when I take mine off to install my hub centric rings.

I’m in the same boat OP, really want 4 piston calibers but I can’t find a good winter rim option that would fit, and I’m running 15” RPF1s, so probably won’t be a thing for me sadly.

One of the biggest factors in stopping or vehicle performance in general is the tires. Yes, the big brakes will look nice, but unless you plan on installing some 200TW tires such as Bridgestone RE-71R or the Yokohama ADVAN A052 you're pretty much wasting your money other than ascetics.. Put a set of the Stop-Tech or Project Mu pads with some new rotors and either of the tires I mentioned and see if that's enough stopping power for you. You'd be surprised.
