redlining too fast...
yeah. its doing it all the time in 4/5th gear...4th gear redlines way too early so does 5th...i cant go past 80mph. i need to give honda a call and see if its under warranty...(does anybody know if it is? and if not does anybody know where i can find out warranty info?).
in the mean time i need to look into taking the bus to and from work every day...looks like a 2 hour commute when i could drive there in 15 minutes, haha.

Pretty sure it wont be warrantied. I mentioned this earlier. Its a ware item and it was your fault. Rough cost to fix it is $1000-$1500.
If there is a chance, DO NOT tell them its your first 5speed car.
What theyll do is this. You go in, tell them the clutch is slipping really bad in the higher gears. They will take the car in and do diagnostics on it. Theyll drive it around and make sure its the clutch thats slipping.
If they find the clutch is slipping they will probably give you some options.
Theyll pull the transmission down and check the clutch. If they find hot spots they will not warranty the item. If you want them to put it all back together and youll go else ware they will charge you for diag. And Im sure it will be in the triple digits.
I will guarantee you itll have hot spots too. Almost 100%
Id hate for them to pull it all apart, give you the idea it will be replaced under warranty and they screw you over.
Id highly suggest not driving the car. Adding more miles on a slipping clutch can end up warping the flywheel. Then thats more money/parts they need to add.

oh yeah i know there are hot spots. haha, i ****ed up real bad once and could smell it for hours...happened a couple other times besides that too but not as bad. ;/ i have to drive it on the weekends, to get to my other job, if not i wont be able to afford to get it fixed ;/ flywheel is about the same to get changed? 1-1.5k? how much is a clutch for the fit? friend gave me a rough estimate from his shop for 200-500 to replace it (labor cost only). is there much of a selection of performance clutches out for the fit us model yet?
btw thx for the help from everybody...this sucks! haha ;/ my fault, i shouldnt of been such an idiot haha. sucks that as soon as i start shifting properly i screw up so bad and destroyed the clutch. lesson learned i guess.

Instead of buying a new flywheel you could just get it resurfaced. Just make sure it gets resurfaced. If it doesnt youll get chatter and rough take offs. Im sure if Honda did the work they would just replace the flywheel.
22100-PWA-005: FLYWHEEL, List cost: $253.60
22200-PWC-005: DISK, FRICTION, List cost: 99.93
22300-PWA-005: DISK, PRESSURE, List cost: 151.25
OEM clutch kit (pieced together) isnt expensive. Just get another OEM. Pretty sure you wont find a aftermarket clutch kit for $250.
Aftermarket clutches arent out yet for the Fit. Maybe 1 or 2. I know the one that AJR has is like $1000!
Whatever clutch kit you get make sure you break it in 300-500miles (stop and go) of soft driving. No hard launched or hard shifts.
This is where I got the part numbers and list costs from. They have good prices at their cost. Id suggest getting it from these people. Call them up.

thanks so much mx6gt. i will order the parts as soon as i can, hopefully 2 weeks. ins this week, car payment next week, then clutch the week after that, then the next week install hopefully. if it does go as far as needing to replace the flywheel or resurfacing it, is there any MORE damage that could be done? besides flywheel/the already damaged clutch?
edit: just checked out the link you gave me theyve got the disc, friction for 77$ and the other part for 106. should be able to get them sooner then i thought ;D those are the only 2 parts i will need if the flywheel isnt damaged?

The prices I posted were list. That link sells them for cheaper, as you noticed.
Im sure the flywheel can be resurfaced. You wont need a new one.
Just make sure it gets done.
