you dont necessarily need an impact driver to get them off, but it helps.

I think I rented one from AutoZone - free rental tools. They can work w/ a little heat.

There are 2 ways ive taken them off easily other than an impact screwdriver. You can use a ball peen hammer and lay the ball side on the center of the screw, and strike the ball peen with another hammer. This will slightly flare up the edges of the screw and make it easier to come out, and break the rust on the tapered part of the screw.

I bought a snap-on air hammer with an impact screwdriver attachment. All you do is put the air hammer on the screw, and take a 19mm wrench, and twist while you pull the trigger on the air hammer.takes 2 seconds.

Resurrection time. I ran into this problem, and the drill fixed it. Just drilled those little f***ers out. Replaced with $26 napa rotors, no screws, and everything is beautiful. These and the crank bolt have been the biggest PIA in all my time playing with the fit.

Not sure why you'd waste that much time drilling them out. Impact driver or even some drills will back them out.

As far as the crank bolt goes, if you don't own an impact, have fun.

Impact driver stripped them. Mine might as well have been welded in. I've got the 7-8 ft cheater pipe + jackstand combo down to a science now.

Impact driver is $12 at O'Reileys. It's worth it for those suckers. ^^^ those crank bolts are always tough. I use two 1/2" breaker bars with cheater pipes and it's still a B.

I'd demand an alignment if they do anything to the suspension.

I'm gonna revive this stupid thread just to re-iterate that you do NOT need those horrible screws. I'm not sure why Honda puts these things in because they are incredibly obnoxious to remove. They turn a 30 minute brake disc job into a 4 hour swear-and-sweat-fest. I've broken multiple impact wrenches trying to get them out on a Honda Accord.

Take them out, or have a shop take them out. Throw them away and never look back.
