I have the ULTIMATE advise.....and its a lint remover but the one with the red cloth not the tape. Works so good you really dont even need to vacuum your seats, they'll look fresh from the factory im not even joking lol

I end up vacuuming my seats once a week to keep the lint/hair off! These seats seem to be magents for that kind of stuff.

Best method i have seen.
use swifter by hand to get all dust up
use 303 on the hole dash and all plastic
Seats vacum them than use a lint roller to get all the hair the vacum missed
Finally use 303 fabric cleaner on the seats than use a damp cloth to remove the dirt/cleaner off.
Last i don't do this but you could use 303 protectant on the fabric seats to keep a thin layer between the stains/sweat from ur fabric so they don't set in.

Anybody like the cloth seats?

When I first got my Fit, I almost immediately started investigating Seat Cover options, based on what I had read about how "Bad" the seats were.

But I've pulled back. I don't think they are near as bad as some people have made out. Yes, they tend to attract "hair" so if you have a dog, I'm sure it's worse. But form my dogless self? I don't find the upholestry that bad at all. As stated a lint brush OR a micro-fiber and upkeep is actually pretty easy.

The cloth is also a lot more durable than I initially thought. Maybe someday if the the cloth starts to show wear, I'll be looking at Clazzio's or some other covers..but for now? I've learned to like the Fit upholestry.

Just got a '10 new-to-me Fit. Overall, good condition, but I think the seat fabric could use cleaning. Has anyone had their seats professionally cleaned (or done it themselves)? Just wondering about any cautions and/or how it worked out for you...

Thanks!

Steve

Cleaning my seats

I have a 2007 Fit and two kids.

My seats see plenty of spills and such! One day I decided they needed to be CLEANED more than just the vacuum. I used the same steam cleaner I use on my rugs (attachement of course) and I only used water. It worked like a charm. My seats look new and are mostly free of soda, koolaide etc.

It was slightly gross at first and I continued until the water was clear.
Then again after a year or so of kids spilling .... I imagine most won't have as much in the fabric.

Thanks sebwin! I was thinking of doing something similar. I have access to a carpet machine at work that has a handheld attachment... I just didn't want to do something I'd regret later.

I use blue coral carpet cleaner on the seats then wipe 2 or three times with a warm wet rag with just water, turns out great
