Found an exposed hose underneath the intake and was wondering what it was for?

 

Have you tried looking up the part in a parts diagram? That's often a handy way to figure out what something is.

My guess would be a breather (or possibly drain) hose for something—maybe the transmission. It would be easier to tell if you can determine where the other end attaches.

I noticed that tube too but never asked about what it was on the forums. Mine was filled a little with black gunk. I took a small screwdriver and removed some of it out of there.

Does anybody know if its normal to have a buildup in this hose?

What are you doing to the fit now?

yeah it is just a breather for the fuel tank I believe. No fuel vapor comes out but it allows air in to equalize pressure.
