K24 deal...opinions

Well, I have a buddy that can get me a K24 for $1300. First, is this a good deal? I have never done a swap...only built the stock engine. I am not sure if K24 or K20 is the right way to go in this car...OR...If TRYING to wait out the storm and see what comes out in the future for the Fit's stock motor. Any ideas? This is meant for opinions and not meant to be a "How do I.." post. So don't flame me for the question!

1000 is more reasonable, depending on what exactly comes with it.

I would do your homework on a K swap for a Fit before you get too involved. When I first thought I would get a Fit I thought the same thing, I had a B in my Civic why not a K in my Fit? But after a few days of reading online and discussing it with some knowledgable tuners I realized what cost 4-5k a few years ago in B series motors now cost 10K or more with the K in the Fit when its all said and done. Not many people have done the swap yet and there is still a lot to learn about it. And since you have so many other parts to collect and modify on the Fit its not just a matter of finding a motor, there is a lot more to it to make it work. So for me the upcoming turbos and SCs for the Fit seem like a more realistic solution in my book for pepping up the Fit.

Cool...Yeah...I am trying to decide what to do with it. The power just isn't there. It is fun as anything but I am trying to find the most reasonable route which seems like a bolt on FI kit...whenever things get out.

Thanks about the price check too!
