GTSpec makes the summit pulley here in the states.

GTspec has a vendor area is the vendor section of this forum under "RavSpec"

Look for Rav spec and ask for Mike.

i've started working on performance mods and i'm looking into the T1R crank pulley and now the UR

i sorta get the whole internal balanced and harmonic balancer stuff and i read this thread over couple of times but i'm still not getting a definite answer

the fit's engine is internally balanced so its okay to have a crank pulley that doesn't have a harmonic balancer and also the crank pulley is only used for accessories so it should be fine (i guess)

but then again, like Sugarphreak said, he rather not risk it and get a dampened pulley instead to ensure there isn't and won't be a problem

JDMChris.com said
i was talking with oscar sr today about this actually and he said pulleys on 4cyl cars arent good. He said they throw the crank shaft off and actually mess up the main bearing. He said he had made some before and discovered turbulance in the crankshaft and since then has never made any others. just a little FYI.
i also read the UR FAQ, and the impression i got from it was that the problems that occur aren't from the crank pulley because they are myths and have no supporting evidence

so i'm still confused and undecided like i was before reading all of this information........

If you guys have a read over my previous post about the concerns, it isn't something that is just going to become a problem overnight or even in 2 years. The concern is that it will wear out components in your engine at an accelerated rate compared to a stock pulley with a dampener. I won't get into too much detail but if you were to do a stress map across the shaft you would see it does deflect and if a harmonic occurs it could cause your bearings to wear prematurely.

Anyway, something else has come to my attention I wanted to post up with regards to this topic;

I have been under the impression that the stock pulley is dampened. Now I am starting to hear here and there that it may not be. Can somebody confirm this once and for all. Pics would also help greatly!!

My UR crank pulley I rec'd today is 461g and the alt pulley is 87g. That makes 548g for the pair.

When I got the box today, I said, there's no way there's two pulleys in here...

man, that is light! Congrats!

Can you post up some pics of the stock pulley when you change over please! Of course wanting pics of the new ones are naturally implied as well

UR alt pulley (87g)

alt pulley other side

UR crank pulley (461g)

crank pulley other side

crank pulley 1mm thick steel sleeve

crank pulley edge and grooves

Claymore says those are the timing marks.

Hey that looks pretty sweet Nice score! Did you get it from the UR site or an authorized dealer?

Interesting, could be for final balancing during the machining I guess?

hopefully those aren't manufacturer defects...

would such small nicks make a difference?

The pulley has to be extremely well balanced; rather than adding weights like you would on a tire to balance it this might be a method by which you remove weight on the opposing side to balance. Those don't look like defects

The indentations are clearly on purpose. I've seen them in other people's photos too.

I got them direct by calling UR, since the Honda Fit pulleys aren't on their website.

Obviously the stock pulley photos and mass will be later...

Guys, those "Ticks" in the pulley rim are "TIMING MARKS" used to set the initial timing manually with a timing light or determining TDC. Yes they are put there for a purpose.

Yah that occurred to me later, though on our old cars, it was more of a single long groove, oh man that was a long time ago...

Usually BTDC, TDC, and stock timing advance (10 degrees). But it's been a long time since there was a need to manually set your initial timing.

Well after review everything for one final time I think reward outweighs risk for this product. My final thought on it is when the time comes I will probably have the engine bearings replaced early... but that is a LONG LONG while yet (If we even use gasoline still when that day comes)

My UR Pulley kit is on order as of today. Just have to wait for it to clear customs
