Cool Total Tuning

Here's the spot!! You can ask for Beto. These guys are extremely well versed in K20 swaps....very impressed.

There is a shop around the cornor from my house that specializes in SWAPS so been thinking about that option as well.
Correct me if I am wrong but according to the numberS the Kraftwerks SC base is putting down 121HP @5PSI??
true. but ajracing did win in that time attack with a turbo'd L15 against K20's. if you're willing to do a swap, why not consider the high end AJR kit?

Which kit are you refering 2, the turbo kit? Or the KWSC high boost kit?

i was referring to the AJR turbo because they have race winning results on that application. but for the sake of conversation, either.

Are we talkin' about Auto X or Quarter Mile Times? I find it hard to believe a turbo L15A will beat the K20A swap in the quarter mile?
I guess it depends on the direction you take your car.
If we are talkin' about turns on a track course I believe you that the turbo L15A would beat the K20A. Due to the weight increase of the K20A on the front end of the Fit.

Thx Tonyd

road course. (drag race < nascar) but if bigger power is what your after it's obvious which way you need to go. but this is already waaay off topic. i'm still not totally sold on going about as fast as a stock gti or civic si on the base kits available out there.

I could not agree more....I thought I had read somewhere the KWSC base kit keeps up with Civic SI's....I'm calling Bluff.

i'm not saying that the claims aren't true. i'm questioning whether being approximately as fast as a gti or civic si is worth $4k after shipping and install.

How much weight is gained at the nose of the car with the K20?
How much space is there to work on the motor once it is in? The k20 looks worse than H22A crammed into an EG.
I understand that there is a lot more to gain in power with the K20 however,
that engine and trans dwarfs the L15A in physical size.

First off, brand new to fitfreak, so hi everybody!

Well, lets consider base price for these vehicles...

2008 Fit MT (not sport, trying to cut costs) - $13,950
2008 Civic SI Sedan - $21,310
2008 GTI MkV 2door - $22,730

And to borrow from eldaino's numbers

Si = 14.95 lb/HP
Fit(stock) = 22.67 lb/HP
GTI = 15.5 lb/HP
Fit + KWSC (base kit & no else) = 17.04 lb/HP

For those kind of numbers, i would say that around 17k total cost is awesome (assuming its as easy to install as KW suggests). Plus you get the most awesomest "sleeper" factor! This is just the base kit too, it can only get better.

I/H/E is cheaper

If you consider the gain from upgrading the Intake and the Exhaust, the results may be close to a base SC for half the price!

Intake, wether it's short ram, CAI or Air Box =150 to 400$
Header =150 to 400$
CAT Back Exhaust =500 to 800$

Total =800 to 1600

And your Fit remains greener than most cars. Now, if you want to cross the line, you replace your CAT by the Megan Downpipe for an extra 200$ and you most likely gained 20 Hp in all for less than half the price.

So indeed, is it worth the $ going Forced Induction with our Fit?

Depends on what you are doing with your Fit? Straight line, street racing and quarter mile stuff the KWSC doesn't stand a chance. The K20 will dump nasty on L15A.....from a dig or roll!!!
Now if your talking Auto X and track use...then yeah the KWSC/TURBO kits make sense!!!

As much fun as it might be... the cost isn't worth it to ME. Heck, I have a 97 hp (to the wheels) 390lb "vehicle" to go fast on

Lol
I'd say the equivalent to the fun factor of a bike in a car would be a honda s2000 AP1 not AP2, you need the 9k redline equipped with a headerback invidia exhaust.

If I had the money, Id turbo it. You rarely see any turbo fits cruising around.

Good Point mnapuran

I was sittin' here getting all excited about turbo charging my new fit that only has 400 miles on it. A spendy endeavor that would likely both decrease my MPG and the life of my Fit. I've got a CBR929RR that makes 150 hp (per spec) for 400 lbs and still gets almost 40 mpg. Why would I trash the car I drive (75 miles RT) to work?

Fit + AJR turbo(E-manage Ultimate, exhaust) = 12.8 lb/HP I think
(assuming ur Fit is MT, dyno proven 165 whp, 15% drivetrain loss should equal around 195bhp)
If correct, that is a HUGE improvement not to mention FAST AS HELL
