i have an appointment for dyno time on thursday. after i put the kit in, i was getting some minor pinging from the engine but after i threw five gallons of some 104 unleaded, all the pinging went away and my car is running perfectly. it feels very very fast. i cant wait to see my numbers.

no disrespect intended but maybe these claims will be true with the hondata and the 8-10psi upgrade(it looks so from jdmchris's vid) but not with the base kit. and with the 8-10psi and hondata you are looking at least 5 grand. better to do a k-swap for that kind of dough imo.

cool beans. post them up please. now you are just running 91-93 octane right? maybe was from running 87 octane since you owned the car?

actually ive ran my car on 91 octane since ive had it. the gas i had in my tank was 91 but it had been sitting in 90 degree weather in the daytime and 50 degree weather at night for two weeks straight just sitting there. so im guessing the expansion and contraction of the gas could have lowered the octane a few points. i had like a quarter tank in my car of the old 91 so i put 5 gallons of the 104. still havent gone through the 104 because i just put it in today

the which is better debate can go on and on. it's mostly a matter of preference. like stated the kwsc is going to give linear power delivery but you sacrifice power under the curve as apposed to turbocharging. the turbo will come on a little slower on the 3k below rpms but pick up like crazy all the way to redline.

both with safe tunes should be fairly reliable. obviously there can always be driver error which will be blamed on the manufactuer. lugging the engine is typically what kills most boosted cars. and basically that is where your loading the engine very hard like if you were cruizing at 35mph in 4th and you just punch it rather than down shifting. and also 5 gear pulls on the highway with long sustained loads can also cause major problems. another thing is getting a bad batch, or fuel or since gas is so pricy maybe i'll just run low grade for now. then that unsuspecting type R pulls up and you decide to race them on a 115' day. and well you get the picture.

both systems with moderate boost, good fuel and common sense should be plenty safe to daily drive and take road trips as long as the precautions are made.

we don't really know what the hondata/8-10psi kits are going to cost. and 5k only buy's you a an actual k series engine.

i'm sure the upped boost will make MORE power obviously, but the linearity of it and the impressions that it gives on any level should be consistant from kit to kit.

yeah especially when your adding another 1k for the k pro. another 1 k for the mounts, axles and misc stuff.

it would have cost me 7k for all the stuff i wanted.

yeah it will boast near 200whp for the things i needed. but is it really worth HALF the price of what my car is worth. not really. ill save the 2k and invest it into something else

For me, I'm planning on doing a K20 swap. A turbo or s/c for $6000+ to have 150whp?

Goodness, I can have a nice K20 swap for $4k and have a cool 200whp all motor. Then if I just wanted to spend that extra $2k, I could do some head/cam/tuning and have 240whp or more.

I don't know either how you can do a K20 swap for 4k. And in no way is the KWSC kit 6k.

I can get a K20 motor w/tranny in town here for 6k, + Kpro ($1000), + mounts, axles, etc ($1000), + installation and tuning = 9-11k.

A KWSC kit (highboost) when it comes out will (hopefully) be under 5k. And you will be getting around 170hp and 150-160 torque to the wheels...

KWSC is direct bolt on with hondata programming. K20 is custom installation with some cutting and modifications to get it in... that = big $$

Wow, I guess there could be a higher cost involved depending on engine availability and where you're getting it.

I got a RSX Type S 210hp engine I can get for about $1800 for engine/tranny/axles and whatnot. Swap, tuning, ECU and labor were going to run me a little bit, but last time I added this up, which was last year when I first got the Fit, I figured up about $6k.

I guess depending on which exact engine you get and where you get it could run the price up huge.

for that type s motor you were talking about.

http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30014
the one i would like to buy

and i would go pick it up myself of course to save money on shipping.

but just that alone is near what you estimated all together. i need to do the swap somewhere else in the us.(your area) because you get stuff for dirty cheap.
