ok this isnt a FI vs K20 debate. its kwsc vs T1R.

the k20 kills handling and i dont know about you guys but i love the way my car handles. i already thought about doing a K20 but the reality of it is, if you want it to handle half as good as a stock fit does you would have to take off the whole front end, add reinforcing spot welds and a very very stiff front suspension. it has been proven on the track that a F.I. fit is faster than a K20 fit. but if you like to drive really ridiculously fast in a straight line, go for the K20.

now lets get back on topic.
my T1R kit has made me very happy. i dont think our cars need more than 180 hp. if you can achieve that goal, you will have a bad ass fit. im loving my car right now. i just did a pull from second to third full boost and ive come to one conclusion, i need better brakes to stop quicker.

yea, at first i had a project mu kit in my hands, but i sold it to an eg owner for alot of money. then i was going to buy some wilwoods. the spoon setup requires some fab work and id rather get something that is bolt on. i will probably either get another project mu kit or some nice brembos.

would it be possible to run the kwsc with emanage and rc injectors?

that is a good question. but that would essentially make it a YOU TUNE race kit .

kinda like the s2000 kit right?

it could be, you can buy the actual rotrex charger and accesories from them individually.

yeah it will boast near 200whp for the things i needed. but is it really worth HALF the price of what my car is worth. not really. ill save the 2k and invest it into something else

totally agreed, and sid seems to be the exception!

Goodness, I can have a nice K20 swap for $4k and have a cool 200whp all motor. Then if I just wanted to spend that extra $2k, I could do some head/cam/tuning and have 240whp or more.

i wish i was in your shoes man, if i could get parts that cheap it would be amazing.

at any rate, i think the only way you are going to spend 6k on either of these kits is if you built a kraftwerks yourself, or got some impressive tuning done on the tr1, and event hats a stretch, and it applies even less to the pre-packaged bolt on kwsc kits.

Wow!! Not one mention of passing smog and emissions between a supercharged car vs a turbo car. For some of us who live in states like CA, or other states that require strict emissions, having a turbo car is a no no, let alone illegal. So for some of us, the supercharger route would be the ONLY route, pending Kraftwerks getting a EO number for their kit. And for those who don't realize it, swapping out your stock injectors for larger injectors will definitely affect your emissions. You more then likely will not pass emission testing.

In CA its basically a trip to the State emissions Referee. $$ Plus he will tell you to remove it, along with anything else illegal on your car.

but if you are friends with the referee and can put out the legal level of emissions, its alot less of a headache.

T1r is made in China, Comes with Tial STYLE waste gate and the Garrett turbo is not built by garrett, the parts from from Garrett but i don't think it's built by them as West COast turbo / injector had to rebuild my turbo today because it leaked through the seal. and also found one of the c-clip that holds the center section tight was missing prob went inside the motor, causing it to give major shaft play

other then that, it feels great with the added HP ! and one who buy it should b impress that it could do all that !

i think i am going K20 soon

How long have you had the kit installed? So you are saying that the wastegate is a fake and the turbo itself if not assembled properly? How do you know it was made in China?

Maybe Ben from AJ-R can chime in on this.

Woof my friend Are you blind or something The Turbo is made in Japan (call it made in Jamaica if you like because China is not the worst place to make car parts) , if you can read it clearly stated on the tag located on the Turbo. Honestly, Garret Turbo's cost are very decent to a point that there are no necessity to supply a generic unit (I think they don't even exist), If it is a generic one, I don't think you can even find parts to fix it

You bought the kit used so if the person who previously owned it didnt take care of it will have higher chance to cause any problems. I guess you are quite familiar as well with Turbos as well, you should know better.

We usually deal with Kinetic in Langley B.C. and they are pretty well known in the west coast for working Turbos, I have sent Turbos to have them ordered and replaces the seals for us and we never got any problems with it.

ah man just when i was warming up to it. someone chime in please!
The WASTEGATE is made by TIAL.

I'd really doubt that the T1R is a knock-off production...
