Id like to know more about this? How can something hydraulic/mechanical have a delay?
A noticeable delay at that.

I have the clutch installed on my car for awhile now, and I am running a turbo setup on my fit, I have had no problems with it, It was install at AJR. I drive it daily it has over 2500 KM on it and yet there is still no problem , I even drove the car hard several times and yet the clutch is still fine.

Who all has this clutch in their cars and has FI? In Canada.....

If theres people "testing" it what kind of tests are they going through? Because if youre saying youve only driven the car hard several (how many times would that be?) then maybe you all arent putting the clutch under enough stress.

It's a valve in the hydraulic clutch system that slows down fluid flow when you release the clutch pedal. I think the idea is to make clutches easier for n00bs to use without all the herky-jerky. Subies have them too -- and have trouble with them. A fair number of STi modders take the blasted things out altogether.

It depends on the adjustment of the pedal. Too far out and the engine will shock the clutch causing slippage. Too far in and it grabs quickly. Just a thought. Also no offense, but do think driver error is possible? Sorry to hear the bad news Josh. Hope you get it worked out.

Making a link with that event on a ridiculous thread like this is truly bizarre.

so i just talked to AJ racing and they want me to pay 500 dollars to have my clutch taken out then pay to ship my clutch out of the country then in a month they might send me a new clutch or not then want me to pay 500 dollars to have it put back in. im sorry but to me that seems unreasonable......

I didnt feel right spending $450 for just the disk at first. So I waited till someone did install it before I bought it.

Sucks for your troubles though. ESP if it is identical to OEM quality.

I believed Sam had been trying to contact you for the past week in regards to this issue. So we are not leaving you alone.

Once again, if there's any problems with the clutch that we sold to you, we are more than happy to replace it for you BUT there are a few things we have to go through before that. Exedy (manufacturer) requested you to send in the unit for inspection to ensure that the product is defected before we can issue a replacement for you. If Exedy finds out the clutch is NOT defected so meaning that could be other reasons to cause the clutch not to function properly so if that's the case, we are not able to do anything about it.

FYI, Exedy USA will be performing the inspection (not us) so they will have a report after they did the inspection.

Just to let you know, if a clutch slips, it will slip in every gear and not just 2nd. From what you were telling us :

1)the clutch slipped only when you shifted from 1st to 2nd, dis-engaged the clutch, ON throttle then the clutch slips (the total action should be performed in within a seconds or 2).

2) You also said when the car was rolling in 2nd then you punched the throttle, the clutch will not slip in any rpm.

From the symtoms that you told us, I think your clutch is NOT slipping because if the you rolling in whatever gear and whenever you punch the throttle the defected clutch should be slipping slip but your case it is a NOT slipping. IMO this is CLUTCH DELAY. I will suggest you to adjust the stroke of the clutch pedal and try, you could have good results by doing that.

Our sales Sam will be in touch with you tomorrow .
